Scorpion Edition

I like the wing tbh! :p

EDIT:

(assuming it is functional!)
What does that mean? A corset is functional; it shows off an apparently narrower waist and wider hips. A wing/spoiler functions in the same way on 99% of cars with them. This taped on thing - plastic up in the air pushing down on plastic - is not going to apply downforce: if it did, then the hatch lid "spoiler" that the addon is pushing down on would fail and crack. So, the functionality is sexy appearance only. :p

If it's just for cosmetics then I am not gonna get it then :p

Lol, that's all that any of these tape-ons are. If anything, at speed they would interfere with the buttoned-down handling of the stock Stinger body.

I would say most spoilers on any car are just for looks, unless it's a race car or something high performance. And I'm definitely a spoiler guy, have a spoiler on my truck. ;)

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Who needs down force when you have AWD??
Complicated question, but the short answer is: the car still needs to make good contact regardless of how many wheels can receive/transfer power to the road.

^^^ This is not an argument FOR putting a spoiler on a Stinger, I doubt the Stinger needs it. Definitely just a styling cue. But for 200+ mph supercars, there's a lot of downforce needed to keep the vehicle planted.

Reviving this

Since the Scorpion has already been released in the US, anyone know if we can buy the spoiler from the dealers? We're not getting it here in Canada until the fall, so can't find out here, but I'm curious if they're available there and how much they are.
Where did you hear/read that it's coming to Canada in the fall? The sources I follow have all said it will not be available in Canada.

I don't like wings or spoilers on cars in general, I feel it ruins the look. Also how is it a "black pack" when you still have the chrome strip above the door frames? Black out means all exterior trim is blacked out.

I've already powdercoated my rims black. I'm not crazy about the exterior black chrome on the car but there's not much you can do about it other than vinyl wrap.

I definitely am a spoiler guy, just not a huge fan of the one they went with for this scorpion edition.

Yeah, doesn't make much sense. Should have all the black chrome be gloss black. Somebody with a gts can chime in, is all the black chrome carbon fiber? I think it's a mix/match on that model as well.

It’s mismatched on the GTS too.

Thinking about doing this on mine, but curious how it will look on the new 2022 rims. May just go aftermarket.

That was my plan originally but powder coating is much cheaper overall

The Kia branded winter rims I got with the car are powdercoated black as well. I very much like the look of them. Still different from the new rims though

Regardless of what you might think about the look (I like it), I'm happy that Kia is coming out with a special edition to support the platform and continue its production.
Unfortunately, they are saying the 2022 Stinger will be the last of its production.

That is not what they are saying. It has been said, by one source, that 22 will be the last year they are produced. Kia hasnt confirmed

Correct. The speculation has come from the primary plant they’re made in not having them on their production schedule. This plant appears to be focusing on EV’s. There is a secondary plant they could still be producing out of. Unlikely they spent the money they did redesigning the 2022 for a single year. They’re more likely to run it for a couple of more years and then release an equivalent EV - Hyundai already has plans for a full EV sedan, so his likely becomes the Stinger replacement for KIA.

So these are your winter wheels that came with the car? I'm confused.

Yes those are the stock winter rims that Kia sells.

Here are the stock summer rims
