Tons of threads on this piece. As I type this I'm not sure if creating another thread was necessary, but wanted to celebrate my first modification.
I recently met up with another member of this forum and bought an M&S rear diffuser that was already finished in matte black, new in the box. Knowing that I wanted it gloss black I went to work.
Paint: Krylon Fusion All-In-One Gloss Black
Clear Coat: Krylon High-Gloss Crystal Clear Spray Paint
Cost: $9
Time: 30mins
If anyone was looking to do this, it's very simple as long as you're prepared. The biggest thing to being prepared is setting up your area. I used my garage, with the door stopped halfway down, so as to provide some ventilation but also not allow the natural breeze to carry in any contaminants that can "land" on your drying paint. Apply light coats. Wait 5mins between coats. Wait 24 hours after the final clear coat before handling, taping, and sticking it to the car.

Matte black as I received the part:

First coat:

Second coat:

Third coat:

Final coat:

Gloss clear coat applied:

Taped:

Installed:
