• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... Had my MY2019 Stinger booked in for service today & was able to have the recall campaign completed at the same time. Great Western Kia in Penrith had the parts in stock & were very professional!

Two new 25amp fuses replace the original 40amp fuses on a multi-fuse bar in the engine bay. Attached are some photos for other curious Stinger owners showing the new fuses & replacement fuse box cover date stamped Feb 2021. Seems like a neat & efficient plug 'n' play solution to me.

I had mine done today too. No before photos but it also looks like the wiring loom was spliced with glue-lined heatshink?

They also said they were going to update firmware in the process too. Took less than an hour all up.

Interesting to see they chose to replace the fuse box lid entirely too. I would've thought they could've just stuck a heavy duty vinyl sticker over the old diagram?

Agree with you about the recall and as mine has never been wet in the engine bay I really can't envisage an issue. Also its garaged underground where temperatures range room 22-26 all year round with relatively low humidity.

I initially thought that too. But the HECU is part of the ABS pump/whatever assembly - so "moisture" (carefully worded!) probably really means the actual hydraulic fluid!! If that somehow leaks on to the ECU board, potentially it could then short out; which you're then relying on fuses not melting your wiring loom & creating a fire. #NotaMechanic

Got my official Kia recall letter yesterday, my car is in the service department right now.
It’s getting the left hand bimotor acuator fixed at the same time.
On the way home talking to the young sales guy that was dropping me off. He asked he how I liked the Stinger. He is considering buying one for his gf. She currently owns a Mazda 2 which keeps breaking down and the head gasket has gone.
He has driven the demo Stinger at work and really likes them, he has a heavily modified V8 Mustang.

Hi all

New owner of a Micro Blue 2020 Kia Stinger here!

It has been an interesting process so far with the dealer selling it as a 2019 model (actually a 2020 - bonus!).

I wanted to see how I can check whether or not it has a bi-modal exhaust fitted - without simply comparing the exhaust note - I am not familiar enough to know. I would appreciate any suggestions!

Welcone!
Have a look under the rear. Bi-modal should look like this. Part on the left of pic is the valve actuator.

Standard system looks like this.

Hey Guy,

A new upcoming stinger GT owner here.

I've recently made a deal with the dealer for a ceramic grey and red leather interior 2021 model GT V6TT.

They quoted me $72k for the Trim and no extra (except the Mats and full fuel tanks).

Now I did some shopping around with lot of dealers in Melbourne of course but I believe the chip shortage have really shoot up the prices of all the cars (not only Kia but every other brand in general)

I can get the sticker price but then the wait is till this year End or early next year (which for God sake is still not confirmed by Kia or dealer)

Now I don't mind spending that kind of money but when the sale of contract came, the dealer is saying it will go in as a "Demo Car" even though it will be no demo KM and it's directly coming from Kia and will be delivered to me.

I find it a bit strange , any advise why they doing this ?

Welcome, the current drive away price for a GT in your colour combo is $69,190 so they are charging you an additional $3Kfor Mats & a tank of fuel.
Irrespective of shortages/delays a $3K mark up is totally unacc IMHO & to add to that he wants to add “Demo” to your contract no way in hell this gives him open slather to use the car until it suits them, tell that dealer to take a flying leap & go elsewhere.
I was at my dealership last Monday & the salesman said they are now quoting 6 months, worth the wait but go elsewhere for a better price & a contract that states “New”.

Thanks a lot mate , fyi this was the cheapest I was quoted by all the dealers right from Bendigo to Frankston, and the others said the stick will only arrive by year end or early next year.

It's really shit situation out there at the moment.

I have already ordered by replacement badges using Amazon so let's hope the dealer will sort this out as earlier they were in lockdown so all this happened over the email and phone only .

Wow if that’s the cheapest maybe you should try a broker to see if they can improve on it.
They seem to be capitalising on supply & demand, anything over RRP is a rip-off IMO.

I checked them earlier too, but I don't want the white color and specially wanted the grey /red combo.

Also this dealer told me the price is sticker and there are few offers already on table , so anyone who will offer more Wil get the car haha

WOW, I'm so glad I got my build 2021 end of March with no hassles and Red, which of course is the Fastest. To me, any other color sucks

Haha well the main reason I like and ceramic grey is cuz it's different, lots of Red, white , black cars already on the road.

The next option for me would have been orange or Yellow, but personally those are too bright for my eyes so , ceramic grey it is .

And I absolutely dig the red leather interior.

Yep, I would have preferred to have red interior but that option not available with the red exterior, Life sucks sometimes
