Layering Wax/sealant

And to clarify, your first steps are the same. Wash, clay, one-step polish. The Spray would replace your sealant/wax steps and will last longer and be way cheaper/easier to apply and maintain.

I've put the Turtle Wax on a car without claying/polishing and it still works well. Doesn't last as long but still looks awesome and beads water better than a wax/sealant.

This is absolutely true and hence why I think you'll like an in-between product like the Turtle Wax Hybrid Ceramic Spray or Adam's Graphene Ceramic Spray. Both are really good, the Turtle Wax is cheaper so is my pick.

Yes, I hopped on autogeek and they recommended the 303 graphene. Pretty much the same as what you're recommending. I'm going to go with one of them. I'm glad i am not the only one that isnt all about the ceramic coating craze. I get it, if you want to set it and forget it. But that's not me.

Yeah it's not for everyone. I put the Adam's Graphene Coating (not the spray) on my Stinger in the fall but my other two cars (daily's) have the Turtle Wax Spray coating. It's all about personal preference and what works for you.

The 303 Graphene is ok. I haven't used it but it doesn't perform as well for durability as the Turtle Wax or Adam's in the comparison tests i've seen on YouTube but is still a decent product.

Applied a thorough coat over the whole car. Application was easy. We'll see how it holds up over time, that's the true test of the product.

If you can, wait 24 hours and do a second application. That will give the best durability.

Unfortunately that isn't going to happen this time. Car is heading out for a road trip in the morning.

**Update: I couldn't find any flaws in the appearance the turtle wax spray provided. I'll check back in a few months once the water stops beading as a report to its longevity. Assuming in the desert I'll get about 6 months with infrequent car washes before needing another application.

Year later update on the turtle wax hybrid wax/ceramic spray. I did applications March 2021, Sept/Oct 2021, then today March 2022. Water was still beading and dirt/crud wasn't adhering with much gusto, so I'm going to go with a year between applications. If I lived where weather aside from heat and a very occasional dust storm mattered, I'd probably stick to every 6 months (or possibly more frequent than that). This solution is very cost effective, and since I loathe detailing the car this buys me the luxury of extending applications way past what is ordinarily adequate.

Good to hear. I agree, it is cost effective and very easy to apply. Still my choice for my other two vehicles.
