I am doing some reading on those batteries. Was just wondering if anyone here is DD with that battery?

Are they problematic for daily driving use? $1k is a very high price for the battery, i agree. Not as high as paying $1k for exhaust tips, but still.... would hate spent that kind of money and end up with electrical problems. Still researching. They don't seem worth it for the insane price.
I don't see them being problematic at all. But I also don't see ANY reason to buy anything other than a regular automotive battery for a DD application. They are already pricey enough, why spend any more than we have to for no gains at all?Are they problematic for daily driving use? $1k is a very high price for the battery, i agree. I am looking strictly for wheight reduction benefits. It is about 40lbs lighter than stock one.I don't see them being problematic at all. Theoretically it is gonna be free for me. Uncle Joe is paying for it. We all are gonna end up paying for it dearly later. At least i wont feel bad about it.Seriously, if they floated in air I would buy one.
From google looks like the lightest option would be 30 lbs lighter than a regular one. I didn't realize they were lithium and so much lighter. I don't see a problem with them, just the price lol.I am looking strictly for wheight reduction benefits. It is about 40lbs lighter than stock one.
Just curious... have you swapped out the stock wheels yet? How about removing the spare? And the seats? Are you trying to save weight for the strip/track? Or some other reason. I assure you, it won’t make one iota of difference in DD MPG.I am looking strictly for wheight reduction benefits. It is about 40lbs lighter than stock one.
I emailed the company. And got the answer about 60ah, ( sorry, don't even know what it means) being more than enough for dd. I dont use auto start stop option. Always turn it off first thing i start the car, if that matters.Wait, So actually after looking at it. The cranking amps are there. But the reserve capacity is terrible. The 25.5 lb one only has 80 AH of reserve capacity. A regular lead acid has 135 AH of reserve capacity. the 15 Lb one is only 40 AH. With the amount of power the car draws in the times when the engine is off (auto start stop, KOEO) im not sure that would be enough to handle the power needs.
Yes. The new wheels are on, and the spare is out. Also two piece rotors went in with the wheels. I have a separate thread here about wheight difference. I don't have solid documented proof, but it does feel faster. Planing to go for the strip, once my schedule and good weather match.Just curious... have you swapped out the stock wheels yet? so what is the goal here?
I figured that was the case, I think most of us hate that option lol. They know what it will draw better than me it was just a thought that came to me. With that info I guess try it out lol. But I second cowboys question as to why spend so much on just a battery to save 25LBS?I emailed the company. How heavy is the stock battery? I thought it was about 60lbs. I dont want to tune it, while it is still under warranty. So i thought about making it lighter for now. It is damn fast as is without any tune for me now lol.I figured that was the case, I think most of us hate that option lol. According to google a 94r group lead acid battery is 45 lbs. You could go with a JB4 and be fine with the warranty as long as you just take it out when you take the car to the dealership. It goes in and out in 15 minutes after you do it one time. How heavy is the stock battery? I thought it was about 60lbs. I dont want to tune it, while it is still under warranty. It is a good option! Might consider. Thanks. If you're going for track use maybe check out Home - XS Power for some. They would be enough to swap in for that track day and would be even lighter. We run one in the shop drift car and its tiny and lighter than 15lbs.
There are different numbers around. Maybe i shoud just take it out and weigh it. I've bought a jb4 from classified section here before. Once received with bunch of wires felt intimidated, and sold it again.According to google a 94r group lead acid battery is 45 lbs.
