3.3TT Stinger Misfire

Verified that the wire is securely connected?
I did
At the moment I'm using my other car and waiting for my friend to come see what is the problem he works for kia, he told me that it could be the spark plugs, or valves.

Man, you have to be trolling now.
First, you said 65% + 55% = 100%
Second, you said JB4’s fuel wires are for e85.
Third, you said the Stinger cannot use ethanol at all and that it’s in the manual.
Fourth, you’re in a tuning thread complaining about tuning.
Then you said the tune for the stinger aren’t using e85 with a flex fuel sensor.

In all scenarios you’ve been wrong but you keep going.

And you’re still wrong. The flex fuel sensors for the Stinger provide a scaled 1-5v output that sends a signal to the tuner for the ethanol content and the tuner adjusts the map accordingly. When there’s no ethanol, or no methanol, the map adjusts to a premium pump gas map. This is a flex fuel tune.

Despite the world around us, it’s still ok to say you’re wrong.
The sheer fact you think a piggy back is a flex fuel tune is enough of a reason to ignore everything you say.

LOL, you’re still going? A piggy back that has flex fuel maps is a flex fuel tune. Now, if you want to go after whether an ECU tune is better than a piggy back, feel free. Nobody will stop you, but those are totally different things. It’s amazing how your logic continues to shift.

Sheesh. At any rate, you probably should still remove the Lap 3 in the interim. Gotta figure out that speed sensor issue though.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...

No, a piggyback adjusts 3 parameters while still maintaining the stock tune, you know like timing advance? But that seems too advanced for you. A proper tune would be overwriting everything like APR and cobb. But I also wouldn't expect you to have any real understanding of actually tuning a car.

A piggyback can adjust more than 3 parameters. Maybe that’s all your racechip has to offer.

You started with a bunch of nonsense and wound up on ECU tunes being superior than a piggyback. Nice work champ.

what do you have in your car?
That person is on a RaceChip after complaining that the JB4 resulted in worse 0-60 times than stock and put the car in limp mode.

Have you replaced the coil packs?
Misfires can sometimes be a result of a faulty coil pack or two.

I simply said put pump gas in the car and take off the lap 3. You are on the forums constantly picking fights and adding no beneficial conversation to the forum. You think a piggyback is a tuner LOL. It doesn't adjust fuel timing, valve timing, Rev limiter, speed limiter, etc.

  • You said the car shouldn’t use ethanol at all and that it’s in the manual, you’re wrong.
  • You said the car can’t handle an ethanol blend, you’re wrong.
  • You said a piggyback can control 3 parameters, you’re wrong.
  • You said the Stinger doesn’t have an available flex fuel sensor, you’re wrong.
  • You said there’s not a piggyback tuning device that can tune for flex fuel, you’re wrong.
  • You said that the JB4’s fuel wires are for e85, you’re wrong.
  • You said 65% + 55% = 100%, you’re wrong.
I didn’t say you were intentionally misleading people and I certainly didn’t label you with any insults. It’s probably just that you didn’t know or you were speaking from the perspective of being knowledgeable about a different platform and assuming the same applied to the Stinger. However, it’s responses such as yours that lead to confusion about the platform especially to newer folks.

You are spot on about the part where I add no beneficial conversation to the forum. I totally agree with you there.

1. The manual was for sake of argument and if you look at it It literally says don't use it, so you are wrong.
2. The stock car does not have the proper gas tank fuel lines seals etc for ethanol.
3. Please name the other parameters the piggy back actually CHANGES. not just monitors. So you have yet to actually provide useful information.
4. I said a flex fuel tune, one that takes real time flex fuel % and adjusts the TUNE TABLES. I believe I said like cobb. Which the stinger does not because a piggy back is not a tune.
5. I said the only way flex fuel should be entertained is with a jb4, and I said you need roughly 35% more ethanol to compensate for the missing power that is lost. Gasoline has 114k btu where as ethanol has 70k ish.

So again, im still wating for you to provide something useful in helping OP fix his issue. I believe my original post was run pump fuel take the lap 3 off and replace the plugs and see if the misfires stop. You then started spewing bs. About the stinger being able to run ethanol. Anything car run ethanol but the car was not designed for it. So stop being useless.

  • Photo is from the manual stating that ethanol can be used. Pay close attention to where the manual does not say the car cannot handle ethanol. Answers Parts 1 and 2
  • Off the top of my head the JB4 can adjust boost, adjust throttle input, adjust wastegate duty cycle, and adjust AFR to name a few. With fuel wires and a flex fuel sensor connected, you open additional tuning capabilities. In addition, the JB4 will monitor ignition, timing advance, and fuel trims to trigger safety conditions and adjust the aforementioned mechanisms. Answers part 3
  • A piggyback is a tuning device. Maybe you consider your RaceChip to be a static device. Some piggybacks such as the AEM FIC need to be specifically tuned to each vehicle. Once again, just because it isn’t an ECU tune doesn’t mean it’s not a tune. There are shortcomings to a piggyback and it may not be the optimal solution if other options exist, but it’s still a tune. Answers part 4
  • At no point did you say anything about 35%. You said 65% and 55%. Now you want to course correct with 35%.
Spewing BS? Are these not your own words?

1. The car is not a flex fuel car.
2. He is not using jb4 with fuel wires for e85
No one is taking your words out of context. This is what you said. Own it. Now you want to clarify what you meant when you misspoke.

Yesterday, it was the car can’t do anything with e85 and a piggyback. Today it’s, well it can be entertained with the JB4.

Yesterday, 65% + 55% = 100%. Today, all of a sudden 35% comes into the equation.

Yesterday, it was, the stinger cannot run flex fuel. Today it’s, any car can but it wasn’t specifically designed for it.

How many times are you going to flip flop?

I never said it needed 55% more flow I said It needs to compensate for that missing power.
It is around 34% more E but were not doing the math.
The tuners the stinger uses isn't even a flex fuel tune with a flex fuel sensor IE: subarus running a cobb FLEX FUEL KIT. You don't just put 30% Ethanol in a car and say yeah the ecu will compensate with no way of actually reading what is going into the tank.
I'm not "railing" on flex fuel but using it in the stinger with no real tune or hardware to run a real ethanol set up is silly.
Read the 2nd sentence? Maybe read things before acting like I didn't say it.
LOL you literally gave me boost afr and wgd, but still dodge the fact that a piggy back can NOT adjust the factory TUNING TABLES. The manual says don't use over E15, anything over E15 is labeled as FLEX FUEL. Just like I said the Stinger is not a flex fuel vehicle.

Here’s the part where you make at least some sense. No one will disagree with you here. With the OP troubleshooting, sure go back to its most basic form.

Remove the Lap3, replace the spark plugs, run premium pump gas, don’t add any octane enhancers like Boostane, and do compression and leak down tests to ensure the valves are good. Drive for a while and note any misfires.
1. The car is not a flex fuel car.
2. He is not using jb4 with fuel wires for e85
However, for you to state that this car cannot handle flex fuel when countless people are running it with no problem, lots of people have validated it, the data is out there on it with this platform and further erroneously state what products are used for is just wrong.

If you couched your statement with saying, “I wouldn’t run flex fuel in this car” no one would fault you. It’s your car, run what you want. And when someone asked “why” and you dive into saying it’s not advertised as such, once again no one could fault you for your rationale.

What people have noticed with this platform is that it’s fully capable of running flex fuel, with the appropriate sensor and tune (piggyback or not).

I’ll use your example of a Subaru, 2018 WRX, the owners manual, I believe, says not to exceed 10% ethanol. However, Cobb will sell the flex fuel kit (https://www.cobbtuning.com/products...dDJ9q5aYBQ4_c9YKImvY9-rgeUIXnRjBoCtFYQAvD_BwE) which is eerily similar to the Stinger flex fuel kit. They’re not replacing an entire gas tank or all the fuel lines.

Most modern vehicles are capable of running flex fuel with no issue and the Stinger is no different.

Now I know you’re trolling. You just edited your message from yesterday, 5 minutes ago to correct your math? C’mon man.

Here’s your original, the one that’s quoted.

This is priceless and goes to show you have 0 knowledge in the tuning world. The link you put is for a flex fuel sensor. As I said the Stinger is a sensor. Now here is the kit, which includes fuel lines, injectors, fuel rails, and oh look a tuner which involved re writing the maps.
