Although I don’t own one yet, I have fallen in love with the Stinger since it came out in 2018 (technically 2017 but whatever). As I finish nursing school next year, I’m wondering if it’s worth waiting around just a bit to get that new interior that looks amazing! Does the older version feel out of date to any owners? I would like to pick up a used one after the depreciation hits (GT 1 or 2 for the upgraded engine and interior) but if the newer one is leagues better, I may wait around a bit. I drive an old 08 s60 with like 140k miles and it’s running fine so I’m in no hurry. Thank you

Im in the same boat. I dont have one either but I am waiting for the refresh. Im waiting mainly for two reasons. One is I dont have to have one yet. Second, I want the new tech. I really want the blind spot monitor and the bigger 10.25 in screen. Other interior changes like frameless mirror is nice, but there isnt that much interior changes, maybe some lighting. I know the cup holder will have a cover over it.
Since its just minor changes I dont think it will be leagues better. The 2020 and the 2021 are exactly the same. I think I read here the only change from 20 to 21 is you can get red interior on the Panthera Metal. I believe thats it.
The other thing to consider with the refresh is the new engine. If you dont want the 3.3TT then the new refreshed 3.0 could be sweet. Im also in that boat. I want to see if the packages or trims change. Because if it were me right now Id get the GT2, only because I want the HUD and the 360 all around view. If you can get the HUD, 360, and blind spot monitor in the new 3.0 then that will really intrigue me.
Yeah I’d have to drive it before I can really say, but to me the bigger the engine the better
Also I don’t think the older models are worse by any stretch, but I don’t want 3 years from now to look back and wish I would have waited a bit longer to get the newer one ______________________________

There is, as far as I have heard, no 3.0L coming in 2021 (for 2022). The 2.0L is upgrading as an option to 2.5L. The only upgrade to the 3.3L is a rumored 3.5L. The upholstery "diamond" stitching is probably only going to stay in S. Korea; ditto the covered cup holders (as has been the case thus far; but you can buy aftermarket covered cup holders, and some on here have done that).
If you find the current tech acceptable, then your options are that much bigger. I plan to keep my 2018 till I drop dead. But you know about plans ...

My opinion but the original will age better. The rims, headlights and tail lights are all a downgrade on the new model. The tail light bar on the new model is especially cheap/generic looking (re dodge dart). The interior screen is probably the best thing about the update but that'll look dated soon too and you shouldn't ever buy a car for that shit.

If you aren't in a rush, then you can wait until they release exact details on the new US spec facelift, then make a decision. For instance, not all of the features from Korea made it to Australia for their facelift.
In my biased opinion, I think the facelift is great. The large monitor and blind spot monitoring are fantastic. The tail lights with sequential blinkers look more upscale. Quilted seats are decent (I actually like the Australian seats more). The wheels are just as unappealing (to me) as the previous ones (which is why I upgraded). It will be interesting to see what additional options you get in the US (if any).
Anyway, good luck with whatever choice you make. It will be a fun car regardless!

I'm waiting for the facelift, mainly for the upgraded tech and screen, which looks so much better and appears to be much more responsive. However, because there are so many variations based on country, I'll see which options actually make it to the US. If they're underwhelming, I'll just go pick up a CPO or older GT2 that's stuck on a lot.

I agree on the lights, but a lot of people seem to like them. I never liked that entire car width bar on any car.

I don't know what comparison you are trying to make, but the old design looks more dodge dart than the new....
You have a lightbar with two "ovalish" regions on the end with some kind of clear light in the center.
To each their own. I think if you are going to put the light bar across the back end, the whole damn thing should be funtional. That's the one thing that always bothered me about the old design: the middle part that does nothing.

The prelift stinger looks like a Maserati from the back at night. The facelift Stinger looks like a Dodge Dart. If you can't see that then that's your problem.

BTW there is nothing cheep about the tail light bar , there is nothing cheep in regards to whole car in both versions pre or facelift

Man you are rude and childish. Some will prefer the current light and some the new one. You happen to have to old Stinger and like it better, all the power to you but does not make your opinion better vs the others... Also I like the Stinger to well look like a Stinger and you seem to prefer it to look like another high end car.
People that have seen the new lights in real life seem to like them and they say they look premium. Have you seen them in real life ?
On my side I like equally the new lights vs the old one but I like the new interior and tech of the new one a lot better that is why I am waiting for the facelift to replace my 5 series Bimmer otherwise pre facelift tech and interior quality in many area would be too much of a downgrade for me.

Not much, I look at your other posts briefly and the summary is that everything else is shit, sound like shit etc you never bring really good information or discussion so I will just press the ignore button and continue the discussion with other civilized people in this forum.
back on topic for the OP it really depend on your priorities. Technology is moving fast so if you wait for the facelift and wait a few years after to be cheaper in the used market the will be a new version or new car with more tech again. Hyundai and Kia are going with Nvidia for their new system( new cars or refresh after MY22 excluding Stinger ) look at the Genesis the graphics are very nice. If you like the car you should go for it, I am waiting for the refresh but plan to buy new.
