They just stick on. There's no indentation on the car itself. The body panels are flat.More than likely I would receive a Kia emblem, which I plan to replace with the "E" but they're differently shaped and grooves are different as well, not sure how I'd do this replacement.

I'm not sure if those posts will be in the same spot as the KIA badge but they might be. If not, they're easy enough to remove. You can see some similar instructions here.
It's the large script text that replaces the KIA badge on the Korean model.
