there must be more than a passing resemblance between the two. Has anyone done a deep dive, or driven the two back to back?

I have a 2019 Stinger GT Limited AWD and a work colleague has a 2019 G70 V6 sport AWD.
The G70 has a more upscale interior (quilted leather seats and some of the buttons & fit and finish ), but I think there is no contest when you compare the exterior design. The Stinger has a real aggressive look Maserati-esque rear end and very sculpted shoulders and door panels .
I am not saying the G70 isn’t a nice car, but it’s exterior design is a bit unimaginative, It’s kind of a cross between a 3 series & a C class.

I know they share many of the same parts. If you order Eibach sway bars, the parts are exact.

As far as driving, they feel a little different , I think the G70 has a shorter wheelbase and is lighter.

Yes. I just googled g70 vs stinger and that was even easier than making a post on here. Lots of info out there

Although I think the current gen G70 is a nice exterior design, it's a very conservative almost boring design. The new gen that is just about to come out has a much more interesting look that sets it apart from the crowd. You will not mistake it for any competitors, I'd say I'm a fan but it has a more luxury than sport look for me. The Stinger to me is all about the sporty look, much more aggressive looking.

Completely agree. The other big perk the Stinger has and will continue to have over the G70 is way more usable interior space. Larger back seats and a hatch sealed the comparison for me.

Agreed, the Stinger is actually usable as a family sedan with up to 2 kids, the same can't be said for the G70 although I don't think they were aiming for that crowd anyway. I can go to Costco and not hold back with the Stinger, I have to remove the cargo cover to fit everything but it's impressive what you can fit in the Stinger without even dropping the rear seats.

Yep, it was made for Costco runs!

I easily get 2 kids in booster seats behind me and i'm 6'5". No way you'd do that in the G70. I also love that i can fit 4 wheels and tires in the back with the seats folded. Same with a 60" TV. There are very few cars that can do that. Most compact and sub-compact SUV's would fail.

There is only one other car that i'd upgrade to that can do the above and look good doing it. The 2021 Audi RS6 Avant. But that's the price of 3 Stingers....

I was looking into the updated G70 here in SK. Its okay (some colors look bad), I don't like the split light design that they are now using on every Genesis model. I find it boring (I see so many new G80s now), and prefer pre-facelift.

I agree about the sporty look of the Stinger, one of the reasons I went with it.

It's fantastic to have an opinion from an owner of a facelifted Stinger! How is the new valved exhaust on the Stinger? I've been underwhelmed in the YouTube reviews so far but curious to hear your thoughts as videos don't always do it justice? Does the G70 have a valved exhaust now too?

The G70 does and it got a "drift" button like the GTS.

I already started another thread about my car. Long story short, it was delivered today, but I won't get to see it until this weekend. I will post my thoughts and hopefully a decent video soon.

Is that why I got the Stinger? She was saying, "Get me, I do Costco runs right!" Subliminally, of course. I haven't put that to the full test even yet; but I have trucked four diningroom chairs all at one time. :P

I was on the fence between the two. In the end, the aggressive sporty look of the stinger won out, and the 7k I saved over the G70 went to mods. Same powertrain, 90% plus of the interior swag, and way more head turning. The G70 blends with the crowd. Stinger is very unique.

That's what I thought too. G70 was available with like a 3k discount, Stinger was available with a 10k discount.

I was really close to getting the G70 simply because of the wheels. I honestly hate the stock Stinger wheels. I understand some people like them but I really think they look cheap and tacky.

However, the Stinger is just the better looking vehicle in my opinion. Therefore, I got the Stinger in Panthera Metal with the white interior and swapped the wheels out for the G70 “Design Edition” staggered wheels. I couldn’t be happier with the Stinger than I am now.

Those look really good!

Also was on the fence at one point since the G70 is sportier and has a better interior, but the hatch sold me. I actually stopped looking at anything that wasn't a hatch/sportback before deciding on the Stinger.

You do know there are hundreds of aftermarket wheels that fit on our car? Most will be a lot lighter than OEM wheels too.

Yes, I am aware. However, there are only two wheels that have the exact same specifications as the stock staggered Stinger wheels and both of those wheels come on the G70. Some people want to stay with the stock sizes even though there are many other options that can be acceptable as well.
