• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

Good All-weather Tires?

That I don't know, I don't know a lot about tires/rims TBH. Just bought them from the dealer I got my car from.

Use these sites, seem to have an 18inch option for AWD GTs.

So i ended up getting 18" Winters

Why are the PSI ratings on the rears different than the fronts if they are the same size and type of tire?
39 PSI Rear and 36 psi front I think they say online

Also would you still rotate these tires side to side only? Or standard AWD non-staggered rotations?

Thoughts?

Thanks,

Full rotation on any square setup. And the psi should be according to the door pillar placard.

Any reason why you decided with winters instead of the all weathers that you originally intended on getting?

Still trying to decide whether to get winters or all seasons ..

All weathers arent that cheap

And I didnt feel like selling my current tires for a discount.

I think storage space should be your main concern.
Because while all-weathers may do it all, they arent good at anything.

Id rather have great traction all year round.

My Nitto Motivo A/S UHP tires, for winter (on right now), are not that much inferior to PS4S. Yes, they come unstuck earlier, but they also are predictable; and they stick really well anyway. So, in the winter, when the roads are dry, either side of freezing, I can play with a satisfying amount of traction. The weather band, the temperature window, is far broader than with a snow tire. When it snows, I slow down and increase distance between me and the vehicle in front, etc. My main focus in winter driving with frozen roads is black ice. You don't get to discontinue this with snow tires; at best, you get to stop a little faster with snow tires, and corner at a little higher speed, on black ice. But you should be avoiding it with any tires, not tell yourself that because you have winter tires you can drive without worry. So, if I am worrying anyway, I'll just go slower still in those conditions. And I'll enjoy real driving performance all the other times that the roads are clear and the temperatures climb above freezing (this is when snow tires are wasted while also not giving a satisfying performance, i.e. are lacking the fun of being able to corner "spiritedly").

Michelin recently released Cross Climate 2's which are all season tires but snow certified. That said, there are no available version for the Stinger...yet?

Yaw well you obviously made up your mind.

But to give u an idea the cheapest winter tires still perform better than all season tires. All weathers have been noted as the new true 4 season tire with a big con. Tire life of the rubber. You can look at reviews.

All weathers are not a replacement for true winter tires. In some parts of Canada studded tires and chains are even beneficial.

Tires are like shoes, there aint one shoe that can do it all!
