hey all,

I found this BMW https://www.carmax.com/car/14037724

It's very low mileage, has a ton of packages, and a 400 hp biturbo v8. The zero to 60 is the same as the stinger. Great alternative or no? Please comment beyond the "high maintenance and reliability" issues

If you want that particular car/model, then great buying. Always great to own, drive and love a decent BMW.

I'd be weary of the maintenance cost you may experience for an expensive to upkeep car that's 5-6 years old.

It just depends on what you're looking for. Yeah this BMW has more HP then the Stinger and probably the same level of luxury (Leather seats, auto hold parking) but it is also 6 years old. It will not have Android Auto/ CarPlay, no advanced safety features (smart cruise control, LKA, auto emergency braking) and this one looks like it was Fleet use and not personal use... Also like lostnspace said expensive upkeep and i'm guessing little to no warranty...

I currently drive a 2011 550i w/M sport package. I also bought it at CarMax with about that same mileage. It has been a great car for the past 4 years, but fortunately I bought the extended warranty which has already saved my butt. I wouldn't even consider buying the BMW V8 without warranty so add about $3k or so to the BMW price. Otherwise, comparing the cars, the Stinger will likely offer a sportier driving experience falling somewhere between the BMW 3/4 series and the 5 series. If you want luxury with a bit of sport (and luxury badge props) the 5 series wins. If you want more sport with a bit of luxury (and the gratification of not only a brand new car, but also a brand new design) go Stinger

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
With price And warranty a big concern I will go for the singer with my eyes close !!

Hey! Good to know you have a car like this. Can you tell me some of the problems you had with the car and how the Carmax warranty handled it? Thanks

There's not much to add aside from the insane cost of keeping them in proper working order. They become pretty sweet values once the warranty is up for that exact reason.
