Trimming Rear Bumper Diffuser for Tips

For those that have added larger aftermarket exhaust tips and had to trim the rear black bumper trim, what methods did you use? What tools; Dremel, saw, oscillating tool? Are there any suggested tip or tricks that you can recommend? I have cut plenty of ABS before but just wanted to see if there was any direct experience out there.

Even though I have the oval tips that fit through the stock openings, there is some rubbing that I would like to eliminate. I'm hoping to get rid of some minor rattles at idle and perhaps some more cabin noise.

I'm leaving this SEXY trim job by @xot1 as inspiration...

Nothing fancy. I used a metal file and some elbow grease.

I used a very sharp utility knife to take out the bigger pieces and then I made it less jagged with a dremel. I had to take out quite a bit. I am actually hoping the 2021 stinger rear diffuser has that huge opening that will fit on the older stingers and not require trimming.
