I, like many, am not satisfied with the amount of bass in the HK system. I have seen the stealth upgrade that ImportShark makes a think its an awesome option. However, it definitely is not in my budget at ~$1700. I was wondering if anyone had recreated their design in their own car. Specifically, the box is what I have questions about. There is not just a ton of space in that hole and they advertise that it is a ported box which I would assume would need to be >0.5 cu/ft for any sub. I feel like there is no way unless counting some of the space in the fender as volume? I already have an 8" sub and an amp to power it. If I can't make it work over there I may just settle with a little loss of space in the trunk.

Depending on the required specs for your 8" sub, you could certainly build a box. To get a stealthy box, you have to go with fiberglass...which isn't expensive if you do it yourself.

You'll need to procure a LOC to tap in to the factory system.

For the LOC I'm going to just tap the RCAs from the stock amp. I'm really just concerned with the volume of the box. I don't feel like there is enough space to put a ported box in there. I looked up the specs on the sub I have and it says there needs to be 0.8 cubic feet for a ported box. There is no way there is that much room in there.

Oh, you want ported? Yikes, yeah...you're not getting that in the cubby.

I went with a .5 cu ft sealed box. Sure it takes up space, but I also have an SUV for hauling stuff.

I'm really trying to copy this box. I saw it either on here or on another forum. ImportShark makes it for $650. It fits in the rear fender under the carpet. They advertise as a ported box but theres no way that I can see this thing being 0.8 cubic feet.

There is at least one (maybe 2) who have done custom boxes.... WAY better than the IS one and less $$$....I'm seriously thinking of doing one.... I already have the driver.. It's the fiberglass/ resin that has me gun shy (because I will get it all over)

Depending on the driver, and amp you may not need to be ported... I'm going sealed

I snagged a LC2i, JL JX500/1D, and JL CS110LG-TW3. Tapped the under seat subs. It sounds fantastic for being a sealed 10. I've had 1000w rms JL 12's and a full Focal K2 setup previously, this isn't that but it's pretty good!

I like the look of the sealed box. It's not as huge as a a typical sealed box. Where did you get it?
