Hi all, was thinking about changing the colors of my wheels. Which process is better? I'm worried about powder coating cause I heard they can weaken your wheels but painting doesn't last as long. All recommendations welcome :)

the key to getting top performance from painted wheels is prep and finish , if they are prepped thoroughly , painted correctly and finished with clear coat they will be fine , also they require proper care like washing and waxing to really make them last...............I Dipped my wheels black last year to see how I liked the loook , which I did BUT Dip will not last around the bead of the wheel as it gets abrasion from the tire when compressed over bumps or pot holes , I will be painting my wheels when I get a good weather outlook

Nothing will weaken these 4,000 lbs anchors.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Mine in Metallic Gunmetal. It matches the center cap pretty well so you don't have to mess with it..one less thing. Although the black wheels looks super sharp on the snow white...see Lawrence's post above. I wouldn't worry about the powder coating process weakening the wheels. These wheels are rock solid. Pick a color and go for it!

Just a little worried since I have the 2.0 18 inch wheels
There wasn't anything about damaging powder coated wheels in the "Cons" part linked to above. So, I think you're safe. As far as I know, nobody with the 2.0L trim wheels has had them coated/painted black yet.

Who the hell told you powder coating weakens the wheels  how hot do you think the process is ??
The thing with powder coating is that you need someone who knows what they're doing (ie the way is applied),otherwise the finish can be full of orange peel,or in spray painting terms not flat and smooth looking.
I have always sprayed mine in 2 pack paint as i know i can achieve a better finish,as for not lasting well thats up to you and how you treat and clean your wheels, same goes with powder coating...Also if spray painted touch ups if needed will be easier.
Thats my opinion on this subject cheers.
