Thanks to @KLR STINGER for this information:
Any misfires from these piggybacks are 100% due to spark blow out on the transient increase in cylinder pressure during the onset of boost. The 3.3T pistons seem to have a high compression height with small quench area. This could be exacerbating the blow out issue. No matter what the piggyback maker says, you need to use the best quality plug you can with it gapped down to .022-4. This should resolve the misfire conditions that most seem to be having.
Good evening all. I hope I am not breakingforum etiquette or anything but I have been lurking for a few weeks and just picked up my Stinger today! 202 3.3 white on red. I am on mobile atm so my searching is not great..but it seems that at the minimum regapping or replacing/regapping the plugs might be a cheap insurance even right out of the box?
I am gonna do a 1500 mile break in on my ride but will start driving for fun and modding as I like.
So in short...should I just do the plugs now out of the box? Thanks all.

The spark plugs issue seems related to using a piggyback device. I have over 20,000 miles on my @Pressertech ECU tune with no issues. Original plugs, factory Gap, will look excellent.
With no tune at all, leave your plugs alone
The Brisk plugs are popular with the ATS-V crowd

Wait... 18 months ago I told people that it was a piggy back issue, and I took an online beating unlike any you have ever seen before. And now? People are starting to recognize that the piggy back may be the cause for plug issues? I must be a spark plug prophet or something, lol.

SameI literally understood nothing in this entire thread, lol. I’ll take that as a sign to leave my car stock.![]()
Denso 5346 is what BMS tells JB4 users gapped at .022 however for some reason I gapped mine at .024 with no issues.Time for a bit of narco. So since my stinger is pretty much disassembled, it's a good idea to look at the plugs. What plugs do you guys recommend?
Interesting. How do desmos compare to the HKS?Denso 5346 is what BMS tells JB4 users gapped at .022 however for some reason I gapped mine at .024 with no issues.
And I forgot to mention the chip I was considering was the RC RS + app. +50 hp seems to be the most aggressive it can get.Hello all. I have a question regarding plugs and tuning that I can't find a direct answer for and I was hoping someone could help shed some light. I have read all of the posts I can find as well as Google research as best I could but still do not have an answer I am comfortable with. I am looking to answer what plugs should be used for someone who has a tune (piggyback) but doesn't really use it but once in a blue moon? I am the type person who would drive 500 mile in comfort mode, driving miss daisy style, for every 1 mile in sport mode. I have seen where the 2.0t should use HKS offroad. Everyone says this is very cold plug (though the only i can understand are NGK for temp nomenclature). I also see where you can end up with carbon fouling for using a colder plug in an unturned engine. It seems the rule of thumb is 1 level colder for every +50hp in combination with driving style. I doubt I would ever use any of the higher maps as many here do. I know the question i will likely get is why tune your car then? For me it is more of a, 4am gun it hopping on the interstate for that bit of excitement, but literally only once in a while. Plus, I would like to know i have the extra power. I only run 93. I have a light pedal for the most part. I don't mind paying up for the HKS plugs if it makes sense but I dont want to do something that is going to knowingly cause engine damage for zero benefit most of the time. Is there a correct choice or is the tune + driving style + fuel + yadda yadda something that can't really be answered with a true/false?
the only chip you should be considering is the jb4. I say that when I am against chip tuning, so you know I am serious. It goes like this: real tune - jb4 - everything else. as for the plugs, if you are not going to push it too much then get the desnos. I got the HKS, expensive but I want no issues. And I forgot to mention the chip I was considering was the RC RS + app. +50 hp seems to be the most aggressive it can get.
