I posted this in another forum (trying to figure out which is the official user forum). Anyway, if you are a golfer, don't assume that the bigger trunk will accept your clubs naturally. I had to take my driver out then the bag kinda fit and I have to lay my driver diagonal.

Thanks for posting. I was curious about that, but hadn't taken my set of clubs to the Kia dealership. My clubs normally sit in my truck all through golf season, but that may have to change, as it looks like they eat up a pretty good chunk of the cargo area.

I could force the driver into the opening if I go diagonal from bottom right (club head) to top left (grip) and scrape a bit of the trunk padding. I too leave all my stuff (bag, cart, balls, etc. ) all through the season too. I wonder how much noise transfer there will be since this is a hatch with the trunk essentially open to the main cabin. Oh well, turn up the radio.. lol not many cars with this type of performance, so it a small price to pay.

I have ran into similar problems but with my 8ft. Fly Rod. I actually have to put the seat down and it does come up into the drivers area but it is not in the way.
Have you been able to put you rear seat down and tried it that way?

I have not tried that but for me because I play enough golf (4 - 5 times a wk) putting the rear seat down and up isn;t practical. And leaving it down would push the trunk noise into the cabin.

The other thing I'm thinking about is if I have grass clippings in my golf shoe, will the smell come to main cabin since its all open connected. Never really had a hatch before.

One of the reasons I traded in my Genesis Coupe was that I couldn't load my bike in the car, even if I took both wheels off. The trunk opening was just too narrow. I can get it into the Stinger with the rear seats folded down - a little bit difficult with the wheels on, but easy with the front wheel off.

Ya, I think that's it. If the opening was another 2 or 3 inches wider, the clubs would go in perfectly and all would be right with the world!!! :)

Damn. I just assumed the bag and clubs would fit. I always had to take the driver out and put the rest in diagonally for it to fit in my last car. Does it at least fit with the driver in if you put it all on there diagonally? Like have the driver head to the bottom right and the bottom of the bag on the top left?

Oh, OP what's in the Kia cardboard box in your trunk? I see a lot of that in people's photos but I never got anything

Mine was a cargo net.

Hey @bugaboo90, let's hear it for Stinger owners who golf!

Like you, I was surprised and a bit disappointed to discover my stand-type golf bag and clubs won't fit laterally in the back of my Stinger. However, the bag and clubs (including 46" driver) do fit in diagonally. No need to pull the driver out.

That said, the fit is still kind of snug. The approach that seems to work best for me is to first set the top of the bag in at an angle at the back left corner of the "boot", and then gently lower the base of the bag down into the front right corner. (If it would help, I can post a picture tomorrow.)

Haven't tried putting multiple golf bags in yet. Seems like that will necessitate dropping one side of the back seat, and loading the bags longitudinally.

Here's where I ended up. I can push the driver diagonal into the opening. I prefer not to so I will likely just leave it out. I do miss my legacy for its huge trunk

Have you golfers considered getting trunk liners to keep your carpet from getting dirty , they're inexpensive ,waterproof , easy to clean , fit like a glove and are easily installed and removed .

@westcoastGT, I had a cargo tray in my Genesis, and loved it. Ordered one for my Stinger the day after I picked it up. They work great for any kind of wet or messy gear. Catch spills too, same way that some refrigerator shelves do.

Bought mine on EBay from Deland KIA in Florida for $87.99 with free shipping!

Either price beats the $120 that my local dealer charges!

Did you buy yours from OEM KIA Superstore (delandkia2322) on EBay? That's where I got mine. Seems like prices on EBay and Amazon bounce around from day to day.

i got them direct from superstore , had them delivered to Blaine and drove down to pick them up

Yup. Picked up the cargo tray for this very reason. The grass, dirt, sand can be a pain on the carpet
