Never had a car that turned so many heads.

I made a cake pop delivery for the wifey (she's a small business owner cake pop baker) at a hospital the other day. The car is filthy due to the lousy weather (snow, sleet, etc.), so it hasn't been washed. Despite that, a random guy walking in says in passing he loves the color, asked me what color it is, and asked what kind of car it is...even though he is looking right at the STINGER badge. :p

My wife is disappointed my next vehicle won't be another Stinger, she thinks it is the best looking car I've owned. I prefer 2 door, so she'll just have to get over it lol.

Almost managed to cause a crash also. Someone was making a turn and looking at the car and swerved in to the next lane. Good times.

Hah, I had something similar happen a couple weeks ago. As I was waiting to turn onto the main road from my development, a guy is turning in and spots the car... he basically comes to a complete stop as he waves and gives thumbs up... cool, except he's got a car behind him turning in too, so now that guy's rear end is stuck out in the middle of the road with cars coming. I'm frantically gesturing to him to move his ass before that guy gets T-boned.

If there was a wreck, that would have been awkward. "Well, officer, you see, there's this guy named Peter Schreyer..."

I had a police officer pull up to me at Lowe's and ask me about the car. He asked how fast it was, and when I told him, he said "you probably shouldn't have told me that". He said he was deciding between a WRX STi and the Stinger, but hadn't sat in a Stinger yet. So I let him sit in mine, and I'm fairly certain he ended up buying one.

Got pulled over going way too fast in a 70. Accelerated hard onto an on-ramp, and there he was . The state trooper didn't know what to put for make and model on the ticket and had to ask me. He said "I can see why you were speeding with this car, but I have to ticket you". He did reduce the speed a bit haha

got a thumbs up from a guy in a 991 Porsche 911. Pretty cool when you can impress a guy in a car that costs 3x what yours did

Had a kid at a gas station stare at me as i pulled in, and point at the car, saying "dad look at that car!"

Car full of teenagers pulls up beside me at a gas station. Kid in the back says something like "your car is so sick" and they asked what it was and about the engine. They were shocked to hear it was a twin turbo V6 Kia :)

probably a few dozen other compliments from strangers at stores/restaurants/gas stations since I got the car a year ago. I see it turning heads and getting stares in traffic every day. I love having a car that draws attention; not by being outrageous looking, but by being elegant and beautiful. Kia did an amazing job with the styling. No one can deny that

I had a police officer ask me about my car in a department store parking lot. He asked me if it was fast and I told him that with a TT V6 that it had the potential to be fast. He said he knew it was fast (but not what engine) because earlier that week one of his sergeants pulled one over on I-485 clocked at 166.

o_O woah, 166! the driver had it at the limit! unless of course he tuned it and removed said limit. Either way, that's straight to jail speed. yikes

Stopped into the car wash today in between storms to spray all the crud off, the manager and I had a good conversation about the car and he liked it, another customer not so much. He walked in and asked if it was my car and then said I was a douche, I jokingly replied "hey at least it's not a BMW" to which he said "that's true" and then an employee walked in and called me out for my car before and that was that. That's a first for me, definitely the first negative reaction I've had to the car, not sure what his deal was.

I'm gonna say jealously ;)

Went in to the store and after about 20 minutes I came out. Someone had parked a red Alfa Romeo Giulia next to me. As I was loading my groceries next to me someone walked up to me and was talking about how much more he liked the look of the Stinger over the Guilia. It wasn't the Quadrifoglio but it's nice to have that opinion from someone. I was on the fence with the Quadrifoglio and the stinger. The reliability issues pushed me away though. 6 months later and I still love walking up to this car and all the rubbernecking I see while driving. Almost managed to cause a crash also. Someone was making a turn and looking at the car and swerved in to the next lane. Good times.
In spite of the horrible Alfa reliability, I will have to own a Quadrifoglio someday, absolutely gorgeous car I love them. They actually had one that was unlocked at the car show this year and it made it so much worse because the interior is great too.

So just had this experience about an hour ago..

I was inside a crowded convenience store and a guy shouts "Who in here owns that white Stinger outside?"

I'm thinking oh shit... Did this guy or someone just hit my car in the parking lot? "That's mine, why do you ask?"

He responds "What the hell kind of car is that?"

My car is debadged except for the large script in the rear so it's not uncommon people ask, just never this publicly. "Oh.. it's a Kia."

"A Kia huh? Sure." Then he just walked away. Not sure if he thought I was lying or what

And how hard did you slap this person?
Also when I was at the car wash there was a guy there with a Camry that had some green paint and he was being super anal about it and told them "it's a super rare and expensive color" I was just sitting there thinking dude it's a Camry, there's nothing rare or expensive just because you ordered a different paint color.

That color is called Galactic Aqua Mica and its not super rare at all and it also does not come with any additional expense. When I was looking at Camry's this was the only color that all the dealers had. I hated it.

Did you get a glance of what he was driving?

I don't have a way to wash my car at home currently, but whenever I take it in for a wash, the look on the people's face as the hatch opens up... Priceless :)

Did you do something on your way into the car wash that would be classified as acting like a douche? Not suggesting that you did - I just can't fathom why someone would say that to you for driving a Stinger.

Back on the original topic, I've probably had more people come talk to me about the Stinger than all of 40 years worth of my previous cars combined. Most of them were nothing special, but there was an old Porsche 928 and my current Solstice in the mix. This thing just gets a ton of attention. So far, mine has all been positive.
