GTS with GTechniq Crystal Serum Light

Very Nice GTS. I bought mine last Saturday and I am having it shipped from TN to SC. Supposed to arrive today.

That's what I used - I'm very happy with CSL. The application was really easy.

That's what I hear. I had a professional detailer do it, because it required stage 2 paint correction first. Also clear bra'd the front bumper, headlights and side mirrors - hoping it all holds up well to these brutal Colorado winters.

Prepping for ceramic is a lot of work and experience helps, no doubt. The prep needed to be done for the film to be applied anyway, so good choice doing ceramic at the same time.

Exactly. The most surprising thing was that the car has only been driven for a couple months and already required stage 2 correction. I had washed it a few times, but only the DIY pressure wash without any mitts or even foam brushes, just water and pressure, taking extra caution never to touch the paint. So it was most likely the dealership washing it all rough for weeks / months before they sold it to me. So even if I had brought it to the dealer on day 1, it may still have needed that amount of correction. Crazy.

Are you in Clemson going for a Clemson orange GTS?

Yes I am a Clemson grad and the Federation Orange goes well with my Clemson gear.

Gotta love those dealer-installed swirls.

I always tell them not to wash my car when I bring it in for service.

Your car looks great, very glossy. There's so many different ceramic coatings out there I'm having a tough time picking one. They're probably all within 1% of each other, but I tend to get paralysis by analysis.

Beautiful. And so clean compared to the surrounding "competition".

After three months of accumulating road rash, I just dove on the good deal of a full frontal PPF package (under a thousand bucks): everything right back to the windshield. I didn't get the mirrors or other dark chrome pieces covered. Perhaps that was an economy that will not please me as time goes by. The installer said something I've not heard repeated: he said that sometimes the dark chrome can wrinkle when you remove the PPF down the road, so, he doesn't like to put PPF on dark chrome areas. I already have a couple of dings in the dark chrome: one in the lower-left grille trim and one on my driver's mirror cup. The PPF would not have saved me entirely, but it would definitely have minimized the marring. The one on the mirror is particularly deep, but not large, so, I am not too annoyed by it.

I'm still on the fence vis-à-vis ceramic coating. But if/when I do it, I won't be doing it myself. And I've already accepted that paint restoration is a given.

The ceramic silver with red seats is a very nice color combo.

Thanks, I love it! Just today I was informed our local dealer has my exact color combo, now I’m not alone in the area. I was unique for a few months anyway
