Recommended seat leather care

Is there a particular leather care product to keep seats in good condition you all recomend. My last car with leather the seats started to crack (mazda3) I'd like that to not happen. Its black leather interior

Everyone has their favorite or go to so you'll probably end up with about a dozen recommendations. I like to use an all in one cleaner, conditioner and protectant so I use Meguiar's Gold Class 3in1 Leather Spray.

Yeah just spray onto an applicator and work it into the leather...super easy and convenient

Simple green 10:1 ratio. You’d be surprised at how well it cleans and how gentle it actually is. No need for special cleaners that are meant for specific colors of leather.

The key is to use a product that has a moisturizer to keep the leather from drying and cracking

Simple Green (heavily diluted) is a great cleaner, but it will leave leather dry and more prone to cracking, so you need an additional product to add moisture back to the leather. Even pros use it. Try washing your hands with it, then see how they feel an hour or so later.

Like using a clay bar, however, you don't need to clean it unless it actually needs it. Wiping with a damp, clean paper towel will tell you. You can do more harm than good.

If you do need to clean it, you need a soft brush, a sponge, towels, a water spray bottle, etc. Then when it's dry, apply a conditioner.

Otherwise, the "all in one" cleaners and conditioners like that posted above are usually enough.

I use Griot's, you just work it into the leather and wipe away any excess, it works well for me. But there are lots of good products, just got to find the one you like.

Same. I use Griot's 3-in-1 leather wipes. I'm a little hesistant to spray something into perforated leather.

303 Protectant has worked well for me. Like the UV protection.

Most cleaning products won't have UV blockers nor will they be pH balanced. That's why I use Shine Supply.

Common sense. Put a drop of water on a brand new car seat and tell me how long it takes to "soak in". Modern car leather is painted and coated with a non-porous polyurethane or vinyl coating. You're literally spreading your conditioner on top and then wiping it right off. Modern leather is literally designed not to allow any moisture in.

I really like Mequiar's as well.
