PRESSERtech Kia Stinger GT Dyno RESULTS!!

I don't have dyno numbers but others do. It was noticeably quicker, I did post some times in the review thread but a forum upgrade deleted those pics. I got also got a 3.9 0-60 that my logger somehow lost. This was the same day as the tune.

I have an intercooler but health issues for the past year have prevented me from installing it. I've done a lot of logging of intake air temps and expect it would make a significant difference in temps, but I would need to get out and race it to compare performance. Again, just unable to do that. It is astounding how much heat your get in compressed air!

I run 87/regular octane unless I'm taking it to the strip, which I'll plan for in advance so I can run out what's in there and put in 1/2 tank of premium. Close to 30mpg on road trips, low 20's around town or in the mountains.

Still under 4 seconds for me, has not happen as of yet, and my best was 4.53 and 4.52( 0-60 mph ) my 1/4 12.7 only Using the Dragy device !! So if I can get 3.9 that would in fact be huge gain for my 4100 lb Stinger GT My Alt is approx. 352 meters here in Kelowna BC,, and thank you for the performance times :)

That mpg is impressive!

I am excited to have my Stinger GT ECU tuned ,, I ask Owen of Classified Motorsports to send out my ECU for a Pressertech Tune , and I run off Chevron 94 here with Octane booster, just to make sure I get enough Octane on what I have now ! all my Mods,, are listed on the paperwork ! I can't wait to feel the difference ! Cheers Arnie :)
What I really like is the responsiveness of the throttle and a smoother power deliver through the power curve than I felt with the jb4, love the jb4, it’s a brute! But I’m happier with this ecu tune!
As side note was 4 hour drive to their shop, down in elevation to and up on way back. I got better gas mileage on way back driving in same mode both ways. I also get better gas mileage in the city, a good bit better

Yeah for what everyone has said on here that has a Pressertech tune on, has stated that they are very pleased with the results after getting Pressertech done ! and I have no read a lot OMG .. It is a long way to ship a ECU for a Tune not just a flash , so with that being said , yes I am looking forward to getting my car in action he he ,
I had a ZX 10 Ninja that had a ECU tune then later had the exhaust changed a retuned on a Dyno and that was one smooth ride , so it will be interesting on how this Pressertech tune works in my area being in 352 meters Alt :) The limiter on this GT, is currently set to 167mph /270 kms which I thought was BS ,, but I can tell you personally it is for real on my Stinger GT !

The minimum elevation in El Paso Texas is 1,140 meters, I live at 1,600 meters, and the mountain pass is 2,000 meters. My tuned Stinger is impressive regardless.

87? Eeek - no concerns about detonation / LSPI?

Also, are those mpg values from the computer or computed from the pump? Playing with the ECU tables could, in theory, mess up the computed values (even more than from the factory)

youre tuned for 91+ octane only and you run 87 occasionally? how does that work, do you get any issues? In the past I was always under the impression that you could do that on a stock tune, but no, no no on a tuned car for a specific fuel

My baby gets the best fuel ,plugs and oil ,, and since I mostly likely have no power train warranty left being and perhaps a bit over protective here as well !!!! ,, oh yeah I have 21,000 k now and, I am on my 3 rd set of plugs after the plugs got checked last time we found my Denso 1degree colder plugs were getting much thinner than new ,so I am using race plugs NGK 9 s lol too much Boostane perhaps at the track last year :))) :)

For this tune, the comfort mode is a modified version of the factory tune which is 87+, just like factory.. Sport tuned mode is 91+ and an absolute beast.

That’s an awesome feature

No, I run 87 most of the time. Higher octane only when max performance will be needed. It's not "tuned for 91", it's tuned to give higher performance when needed.

I saw mistermacs reply above which I think describes what it’s doing, in that the comfort and sport drive mode is a different ‘map’ essentially so the type of fuel can be safe to run. Or at least that’s what it sounds like, which is way cool

Yes, I also ran 87 in sport mode, however Todd recommended against that, so I didn't do it again afterward.

I wonder if ours are different. He never mentioned that to me, I would have highlighted it in my review.

I would def ask, because it makes no sense that your engine can be safe running extra boost without upping the octane. On 87 it just can’t be the best for your engine, and I’m understating that. It does seem like a good tune though, and a cool feature if you run the right mode and octane. Cheaper gas in the winter months when you’re driving slow in comfort anyways anyone? ;)

In a few days Time from now , my Pressertech tuned ECU should be back in the car , I will be busy at work for the most part , but little by Little I will Test it out and report my findings :) TBH I have not read or heard other than good things about Pressertech work with tune :) but I do always run my car with 93 and up Octane as , I am not so well behaved as perhaps I should be lol

How much for the stage 2 tune, requirements, and power?

How much for the stage 2 tune, requirements, and power?
I know that my stage 2 will cost me much more than the tune charge of 1250. US. Dealing with Pressertech from Kelowna BC Canada on the phone was great and the power gains will yet to be determined , as I believe my ECU will be Tuned according to my already installed Mods , but still kept in safe range. I am hoping for my ECU to be out today And car back On the road Friday evening or Monday evening. This time I am not worried about whp or torque values rather my 0- 60 4.52 time tell if is quicker and same for my 1/4 of only 12.7 using the Dragy device and as I still have my 18” winter studded tires on , traction would be a concern as it might throw a few sparks ⚡️ lol but that being said , I have read that another driver with almost as many Mods as I have and he hit 3.99 on his 0-60 with a half tank of fuel ⛽️, if I can get time :) indeed I will be smiling as it is my DD car
