GT-9 x 82-Performance ValveTronic Catback Exhaust System

I’ve had this Korean-made exhaust on my 3.3 Stinger for a month, and I am very surprised how pleased I am with the set-up. The tone is untouchable. And while I am biased, to a degree, I’ve experienced a few other exhaust options on my Stinger before (Muffler Delete w/ and w/o aftermarket midpipes, and also the MBRP exhaust), and the GT-9 dominates in every area. Fellow Stinger owners who have heard my exhaust on video and in person—both inside the car and outside—are similarly impressed. I was put into contact with 82-Performance for this exhaust, and was then offered a discounted price in order to be the first North American Stinger “tester.” So, while I had a discount, this is not a paid advertisement.

The exhaust was so simple to install, which surprised me because it has electronics to control the valves. When the valves are opened, the tone is deep, guttural, and smooth. No Fart Can!!! And perhaps the most amazing thing to me is that there is zero drone in the cabin at any speed and RPM. I honestly am still in disbelief. And it’s still loud outside the cabin! But if you don’t like loud, when the valves are closed it is stock silent… but luckily has a deeper tone than stock.

The valves are controlled by a nice key fob, and open or close quickly on-the-fly. There is also a smartphone APP that can either open or close the valves, but more importantly, includes an “auto” mode so the valves can be set to open at a predetermined RPM (I will test my power band in the future to see if this can help performance).

Visually, the system is stunning. Shiny Stainless Steel… It looks like it was built for a sports car that costs well into the six figure price range. The welds are immaculate, and the fitment is perfect.

To date, I cannot find one thing about the exhaust system that I do not love. The only concern would be price. At $2,400 retail, it’s one of the more expensive catback exhaust systems. But, as a valavetronic exhaust system, it is priced very reasonably. It is, in fact, due to the location of manufacturing (Korea) and shipment costs that make it more expensive than many wish to pay. But if you are looking for an exhaust with unrivaled tone, zero drone, and an option to quiet it completely, the GT-9 exhaust from 82-Performance is the only option.

There is a limited number of first-shipment systems being sold for $2,150 ($700 deposit with the remainder due before it ships to the buyer). Shipping begins at the beginning of next month. If you have any additional questions, please let me know. Below, you will find a link to the discounted offer, along with videos from my YouTube videos of this exhaust in action. Great to see other options for our cars! Just in the interest of transparency on your review, though.. did they pay you or give you the system for free? I'm only asking because this reads suspiciously like marketing speak.

That’s an excellent question. I am not payed, but the exhaust was discounted, as they wanted me to test out fitment and give advice for the final product. I think I should include that in my review. Thanks, brother!

No problem, hope I didn't sound too accusatory, but I just like to know the POV of a reviewer for something that costs this much coin. Thanks man!

Did they ask you in exchange to promote the exhaust?
You posted a lot on FB, with videos trying to create hype, then about the group buy, then you posted on every exhaust related thread how people should consider getting this exhaust instead..

No. I was not asked to promote the exhaust. I was, however, expected to provide honest feedback. That was my stipulation. They knew I had a deep following, and they wanted the first Stinger in the US with this Korean exhaust to be "somebody." I informed them (as I inform all of my "sponsors") that I will be reviewing the product and suggesting or not suggesting it to the community. This is always a delicate situation, unfortunately. But, to comment on your line about how I said this exhaust should be gotten over another... I do not think I said that explicitly, and if I did, then that was not my intention. I can only comment on what I have direct experience with. And I agree that I did inundate several pages with my "hype," but that was mainly due to the fact the the discount was temporary, and many people asked me to make sure they got the info as soon as I had it.

OK thanks for your answer. These days it is hard to know, since companies use social media as a way of marketing.

BTW I like your hat!

Yeah, I am the same way. I'm skeptical because too many new products are basically on lease to a customer in exchange for favorable review. Because of how important it is to me for the US to finally get some of the awesome Korean products, I refuse to be bought. I am in this to connect the North American market to the Korean market. HAHA. Thank you! I love my hat too. It's getting worn down, so I need to buy some more.

Just placed a deposit for the exhaust! New shipment is on the way when I contacted them, I'm so incredibly excited! Not alot of clips I could find except for your videos, stinger.menace on instagram, and their promotional video but just those were all I needed to decide. Going to make more sound videos as soon as I get the exhausts!

You’re going to be awestruck and thrilled.

I got my exhaust installed last week and have been absolutely loving it. I’ll have exhaust clips up as soon as I can but I love how the tone is nice and deep in low rpms and it screams at high rpms. With the valves closed I swear it’s even quieter than stock. Anyone know what the app is called? I want to try that out as well.

This looks like a great setup. Looks like I bought my Stinger too late for the discount, though!

I’ve been really loving it, heres some quick clips I took before heading out with a cold start and a couple light revs. I don’t have any other mods just the gt9 catback for now but I think with a downpipe and intake it’s gonna be the perfect sound for a stinger.

Videos taken from my phone pretty far from the car so not the best video but here’s some clips:

It’s absolutely the best exhaust ever. I was lucky enough to get the first one in North America. I’m so happy others are enjoying it too.

Any issues connecting the valves to a power source? I'm assuming they are electrically operated.

It comes with a cigarette lighter plug, but you can easily adapt it to plug it up in the back.

Thanks! Where would be an easy switched source "in the back"?
