Ubered today (USA) in a 2019 KIA Optima. He showed me his UVO app with remote start. Thought the UVO remote start was not available in the US. Wazzup with that!!?o_O Optimas have it but Stingers don't? Educate me!

Some other Kias have it. The Stinger doesn't.

It’s weird that the Stinger doesn’t have down there, I think the Stinger and the Rio where the first to have here in Canada. I remembered when I had my K900 UVO was only available in the USA.

So stupid of KIA not to put ALL their options on their supposedly HALO Stinger ... and absolutley no advertising. Guess the Stinger is a treasure few will find. So sad.

Yeah, problem its a Halo "car", if it was a SUV it would be getting a lot of love, Stinger SUV:thumbdown:.

The Stinger does not have the UVO feature, unfortunately. I believe the Telluride does and it is a pretty sweet option to have. It would have been great if it came from the factory but there are other options for a remote start such as the one we put together at K8. The Canbus Control Module from the K8 Stinger Store will enable you to have remote start features, stop and go trunk access, proximity locking and unlocking and much more... Reach out if you have any questions about this. We have sold a lot of units and have extensive information such as detailed installation plans and wiring diagrams.

If only you could get it to work with systems like Drone Mobile :(

Any step by step installation instructions yet like you have for the optima? No offense but the current instructions just don't cut it. I've gone to a half a dozen radio install places as well as custom installers and no one wants to touch it. Please help.

What is missing from here?

Really just a more clear picture of the entire process like you'll find with the Optima module installation instructions. Not much room for error with something like this, so it would be nice to have a step by step guide like you'll find with most in depth car mod installations.

This is not a diy install. It’s complicated and even some pro shops won’t attempt it.
You won’t find a pictorial step by step for this.

I get all that. That's basically why I'm where I'm at. I've already gone to pro shops and radio install shops and no one will touch it. They won't touch it because the installation instructions are lacking. Which brings me to why there's not a step-by-step instruction like there is on the optima. It obviously can be done. Just hoping somebody around here has something close to that.

When it bought my Forte in 2017 it was available on the SX model.

I feel for you Peggy. Maybe make a deal with the supplier for store credit and return it if you are not happy. I was considering the K8SS set up, but opted for a Compustar security/Drone mobile setup. Granted, there are alot of nice features with the K8SS, but I wanted global start/GPS tracking. My tech had no problems with installation and it was his first Stinger. I was wary cause they had to remove the dash, but all came out perfect. Of coarse I bought the whole setup from him.:) This is what I purchased. Good luck on your endeavors!
