Kia Stinger Rear Spoiler Discussion

______________________________
An off-color spoiler looks good, but I'm not sure I'd go for one. The rear spoiler has been wind-tunnel tested by Kia and is responsible (according to them) for the excellent high speed stability of the car. Changing the aerodynamics of the back end "could" have negative effects by adding drag and decreasing downforce and hence stability. I'll never drive mine over 140mph, so if you value looks over functionality, go for it.

Two thoughts, I'd have to see pictures of more of the entire car to truly make a judgement. And, for an off-color spoiler, I would think the same finish as the grill and vents makes the most sense.

Got this one a year ago on EBay here for $60 Cdn + shipping, for my IS. I painted mine gloss black. I transplanted it on the Stinger.

For a near flush fit, I had to perform some minor grinding at the bottom ends of the spoiler to better conform to the Stinger's deck lid. Re-applied 3M automotive tape, heated it a bit, and applied it.

I agree - on my white Stinger I would go either for dark chrome or a black carbon rear spoiler.

Right, my opinion wasn't based on finish, just design. With the lower valance being gloss black, the spoiler should at least be gloss black, if not carbon fiber or body color

As requested, here is the new Kia Stinger Rear Spoiler discussion. Take away, Stinger family!
Nice !! Here is the same spoiler that is on the Sema car , this company has a licensing arrangement with Kia and will make the whole Sema kit available via the Kia dealer network. Stinger Haus is the company .

That's a pretty smooth looking rear spoiler...

I’m not a fan of how the spoiler stops at the hatch opening.

I’d like to see either a 3 piece design that extends on to the rear deck or a slightly raised spoiler that attaches to the hatch but overhangs to the rear deck.

There is also the Spreek CF spoiler. (not my car in the pictures)
I don't know about the availability in the US, but in Korea it started selling around last week.

It's like a mustache on the Mona Lisa. WHY?

Ye.. maybe from the side it looks more-less ok, but from the rear it looks ugly as a raised Marilyn Monroe skirt ... only difference is Marilyn Monroe's looks classy :D

Is this the only carbon fiber spoiler out there for the Stinger?

Cost is $500 for spoiler, $550 on front lip and $580 for set of side skirts, all real CF.
