I curbed my damn rim!

Well I may have an out and some other people may as well. I noticed when I bought the car at night two rough spots the size of dimes on each front rim. Well I didn't think much of it until I looked at them recently them again and realized these spots are now turning white. I was fortunate to find a picture of new rims from the factory with some stickers. Now I'm guessing these stickers were placed on before the clear coat / paint tried. When they got removed from the dealer it must have ripped off the clear coat? Regardless I will be going to the dealership to see what they're going to do.

yes you are correct. My tires still have the stickers on as well.

I'm curious how the dealership will want to address it though now that I know it's hard for them to fully replicate the finish on the rims....

That is just sticky residue from the green stickers, not missing clear coat.

The round patches came off with alcohol and quite a bit of rubbing.
 
I will try this in the morning and let you know if your right lol
 
Dealer would've had your car for a month awaiting approval from corporate to fix it :D...and would've scratched your paint too. Well done Merlin! :thumbup:

Well instead I came out to a flat rear tire that couldn't be patched since the it was to close to the wall. Nice expensive new tire that barely anyone has In local stock. Was fortunate enough to find a few.

? What happened? This couldn't possibly be connected to the doodle scrape on your rim that pissed you off so much. o_O

So get a load of this a new matching tire cost $350....get home adjust the tire pressure since the the tires were at different psi. I got a new tire and scratched up eatin rim. These guys literally beat it to shit when putting on a new tire..... WTF

Picture, please. This is why I got "winter" and "summer" rims; so the tires don't get changed twice a year. Bad for the rims, for sure.

Called the place this morning.....need to drop it off Friday and pick it up the following day. Let's see what happens....

Just found this thread. ...I curbed my powder coated stock rims. .....700 initial cost for the 4 and they re-did both right side rims for 300
