So, just considering it being Black Friday, I was thinking of going with K&N replacement filters over the stock paper filters (without changing out the boxes), mainly just for sound. has anyone done this and can confirm you have overall nicer quality intake sound after doing this or is it a waste of time and money to just change out the filters?

I'm going to buy them for the simple fact that I've liked using them in the past and actually understand how to maintain them. for $94 for two from k8stingerstore.com its a good price.

If anyone is interested I have a new in box sealed right side K&N filter for sale in classifieds. Also I will sell my oe filters with 1000 miles on them. And soon will be selling both of my K&N panel filters used 2000 miles for cold air upgrade. Accepting offers. Very slight increase in intake sound & slightly better response. If my exhaust valves are open I cant hear anything. I would think with stock exhaust being so quiet you may hear better sound from K&N panels.

Many people have reviewed these and there is no difference in sound or performance gains so panel filters would be a waste of money if you want either.
Also K&N themselves show Dyno proven gains with their Typhoon intake system but not for panel filters. The extra sound and power gains come from removing the very restrictive intake boxes and panel filters. If you want better sound and power gains get a simple CAI system or do the DIY systems many people use on this forum. My DIY system with heat shielding only cost $100 and cut 0.2sec off my 0-60 times as well as getting amazing turbo sounds. Here’s more info and hope this helps. So, I found a killer deal on Mercari of somoene who had to give up their Stinger that was on a lease and the dumbasses put on aftermarket parts they didn't plan to buyout from the lease. Anyway, I picked up the K&N Typhoon CAI kit and plan to install it soon.

Just sayin'. Mine's leased and I don't see a problem with removing all the mods to turn it back in, kept all the OEM bits. Tho the springs...they might just have to deal. The likelihood is that I'll get out of it one way or another long before the lease is up and whatever financial hit I take is on me...pay to play, right?
