Hello! I feel your pain in chosing an exaust setup. Try a secondary cat delete first, then go for a catback/ axleback. Secondary cat delete gives you better sound and few more HP. All AM exhausts are going to be loader ...and have a certain amount of "drone". Lots of peeps here are looking for a better exhaust "note". From all the posts I've seen concerning axleback upgrades ... the MBRP setup has the best reviews for a subdued, not to harry choice.

I'll look into that, I'm not necessarily looking to make the car louder, but for sure a better exhaust note (friends stock g37x coupe has a pretty nice stock sound) My main concern is when my family comes in from another province, they sometimes load their babies into the car, and I would feel horrible if the exhaust ended up waking them up if they were asleep or something lol

I have two youngsters in the back, including a one-year-old, and the MBRP hasn't stopped them falling asleep.
That's good news. MBRP is on my mod list now, after new wheels, tires, links, ... God help me!:D

move had my MBRP on for about a week now with no other exhaust mods and stock tips. It really doesn’t drone much at all according to my ears. Its really not a “loud” exhaust. Its louder than stock for sure, but it’s not anything that will disturb anyone. It’s just as quiet as stock when you’re coasting. Accelerating up a hill around 2000rpm is when you notice the closest thing to drone, but it’s nothing bad at all. Just a deep hum. But it doesn’t vibrate the car or give you a headache like my muffler delete did when I had that. Under her acceleration, the exhaust really shines. It screams (in a good way). Stock exhaust pretty much fades away to nothing at high rpm and you just hear the engine. With the MBRP, you hear a nice aggressive exhaust note that makes the car sound as fast as it is. I think you’ll love the exhaust. It’s perfect in my opinion.

For anyone still on the fence, here's a review after a week of having the exhaust on my car just to add to what everyone else has said.

Installation: wasn't terrible. I did it alone in my garage with the back of the car up on ramps. I'm a thinner guy, so i was able to fit under the car just fine to remove and install everything. hardest part was alignment. trying to get everything to fit so that no part of the muffler/tips would hit or rub anything else on the car, while getting everything in the hangers was a bit of a pain. But, eventually, I got everything aligned perfectly. If the muffler is back too far, the outlets will rattle on the stock tips, or the mufflers can hit up against some suspension components under the car. The only challenge with using ramps is getting enough leverage to loosen or tighten bolts if you're using hand tools while laying on your back with limited room for movement. But, overall it can definitely be a one man job. It's not too bad

Sound: It sounds great. Its deeper and louder than stock, but I would not call this exhaust loud. It's the perfect volume for a fun daily driver. It wont annoy you, but its loud enough that you will always enjoy the sound when you step on the gas pedal. When you start it back up at a gas station, you'll get a few glances. But those aren't "that car is obnoxious" glances. They're "what is that awesome sounding car" glances.

There really isn't any drone according to my ears. The closest you get to drone is when you're going up hill around 2000rpm. It hums relatively loudly, but it doesn't cause vibration or give you that headache that a drony exhaust gives you. Wouldn't even call it drone.

At idle, you can hear and feel the car, but people around you probably wont notice if they have their windows up. Has a nice tone, as always.

when coasting, it sounds like stock. you hear nothing. My muffler delete was the same way. the stinger puts out pretty much no sound when the car is coasting. EXCEPT, when coasting as slower speeds (under 30mph), you'll here some light gurlges when you let off the throttle. I've noticed, when on a slight downhill under 20mph in 2nd gear, the gurgles are the loudest and its ridiculously satisfying. I find myself doing it on purpose at every opportunity.

on the highway using cruise control, its pretty quiet unless going up hill. you'll hear it a little more going uphill, but again nothing bad at all.

under light acceleration, it sound great. you get that deep tone as you shift through the gears and people will hear it around you.

under hard acceleration is where this exhaust really shines in my opinion. it screams! unlike the stock exhaust that seems to disappear, leaving you with only engine sound at high RMP, you hear this exhaust the whole time. It makes the stinger sound as fast as it is when you're flooring it. and people will definitely notice. Even my muffler delete seemed to disappear at high rpm, but not the MBRP.

Overall, I think the exhaust is perfect and I would highly recommend it. My Akrapovic tips came yesterday, and I may install them. Not for a change in sound, but just because I like they way they look. I may stay with stock, just so I don't have to get under the car again, but knowing me, I'll be under the car before noon tomorrow.

Hope that helps! my advice is to buy it and enjoy. Well worth the money, which by the way, is less than any other catback for the stinger.

Did you have to remove the bumper to change the tips?

Awesome.

I have then now, but I don’t think I’m going to install them. I picked up the round Akrapovic tips and I’m reading that I’d need to do some trimming to get them to fit. I may pick up some oval tips soon that’ll mount right up

The Akrapovic tips can be installed from the inside out, sliding the tips into place from the inner (muffler) side of the bumper through the exhaust tip cut outs.

be sure not to push the exhaust tips through too far or you need to start over, the bumper plastic is too hard to slide them into place from the outer side without scratching or trimming the bumper cutouts.

and align the tips orientation so the logo is upwards before sliding them into place to minimize final adjustments. it’s a tight fit but trimming the bumper is not absolutely necessary.

Thanks for the tips! No pun intended. If I can install them without doing any trimming, I’m all for it.

Got my MBRP exhaust installed to but went to put on the 63mm x 89mm tips and they won't fit. Anyone else have this issue?

No. They won't fit around the MBRP pipes. I think I'll take them to ab exhaust shop and see if they can expand them just a little.
