California Red and Hi Chroma Red Discussion

Are there 2 red colours? Or is there one colour and is it known by two names in different countrys?

It's the same color but has a different name in different places...

Since the pictures are already onsite in the gallery, here's a link to mine. I'm loving the Hi Chroma Red, more and more. I will have to take more pictures as I get time, but the color changes during the day (not literally)! During late morning, early afternoon, the color is, as you see in my gallery, a bright and rich, speckled red. But as it starts getting later in the evening, it become a more darker red. I've had people refer to it as a black cherry, others as a dark purple or maroon. To be honest, depending on the source of the light (sunset, street lamp, etc) I've seen those colors and it is gorgeous!

Welcome aboard, @NorcalJohn! Thank you for signing up. And congratulations on your beautiful, brand new Stinger GT! What did your Stinger replace?

It replaces a 2012 Tesla Model 60S. The Model S was a beautiful car but range issues were really becoming a problem due to a change in my work commute.

Interesting, a Tesla huh? We haven't had many Tesla converts. I can see how range would be an issue with an unexpected longer commute...

This must be the first. I have never known an electric car guy converts back. They always insist on making it work somehow. Great stuff. and yeah, welcome!
Love to hear what you think about the Stinger compared to the model S, if they are comparable that is.

Many electric owners convert as a lifestyle choice to support Thier political or environmental views. Personally it was just a legitimately cool car that happened to be electric. My 60 was a RWD model so man could that thing hoon! Especially in the rain. I really enjoyed the car but charging, especially while commuting to rural job sites, can be a real pain. I'll need to let the novelty of the stinger wear off a little before I can make accurate comparisons but so far I find it very comparable to both my wife's Alfa and the Model S in terms of build quality. I never in a million years though I'd be driving a Kia outside of an Eastbound and Down themed 24hrs of lemons race.

Filthiest Red Stinger out there! I haven't had time to stop at the carwash but hopefully I'll make it next week (and hopefully this is the dirtiest she'll ever be). IMG_20180121_211427343.webp

Boy, that "PROSS" decal really needs to come off! ;)

Oh. lol. I thought at first it was a dealer decal, but I see now it's a tuner thing. Still, it sticks out like a sore thumb.

Hey Mike! Looks like the Optima guys are slowly migrating over.
