Lease vs Finance Discussion

Yep exactly. People keep saying that the other vehicles from Kia, mainly the Optima, have lower MF rates, but that just isn't the case.

The Optima has had lower MF rates than it does currently, but at the moment, yes, it’s pretty high.

Absurdly high imo. Kia should be trying to get everyone and their mom into Stinger leases to get them on the road.

Yeah, it did. Back in August they were almost half that. However, they were offering like 2k less in lease cash. So my guess is payments are going to come out to around the same. So if they eventually go down on the MF on the Stinger but decrease the lease cash, we may be in the same boat. I'm hoping that doesn't happen, but if it does, our best hope of a better lease is just in being able to negotiate more off the price of the vehicle.

Here in the NE there are 230 Stingers available as of this morning and the # goes up by about a dozen daily. From what I can see they aren’t flying off the shelves by any stretch.

Which should hopefully increase our odds of a good deal in the future. I want the car to do well, but I want to get a good deal on it even more so lol.

230 to 246 overnight, the 27 GT2's went to 35, all red exteriors, still no GT's or GT1's.

That's crazy. My local dealer has gotten in 2 in all. Both of which sold almost immediately. Hopefully when everything levels out, there will be deals to be had

My local dealer has gotten 7, one was sold before I leased my GT2, the other 5 are still up for grabs. When I run the inventory in the morning I see the same cars at the same dealers day after day, either they aren't selling or they aren't being removed when they are sold. My car is still up but I haven't signed the deal yet, not heading up there to swap out until the weekend.

Hey Barry, I go to Yonkers Kia as well. My wife has leased her last 2 optimas there. How's your experience with them so far? Btw, I'm waiting for a base GT in white. Looks likfe I'll be waiting for a little while.

I leased my 2012 Optima from White Plains Kia who went out of biz so Yonkers inherited their customers. I leased my current Cadenza from Benny at Yonkers 3 years ago but he's no longer there. I'm currently working with Tee, I came in and unloaded shock and awe on the kid but he was unflappable, the GM met and beat my proposal so it was an easy deal. I, too wanted a white car, a Premium edition but my wife went nuts when she saw the GT2 and twisted my arm so here we are. As Clint Eastwood said, "man's gotta know his limitations." :)

Be careful with those 18in all season tires. Word is that if you get that, your Kia is slow and worthless lol.

And here I was planning on doing 167 down Broadway in NYC, what a drag!

We're up to 281 cars within 100 miles of NYC, the first non-red GT2's have arrived (two black, two blue), the other 55 2's are red. Still no GT1's have shown, there are 129 2.0's and 91 Premiums in addition to the 59 GT2's, and also 2 blue GT's.

Interesting. Our non-red GT2 are white, black, and Panthera Metal.

Kia has one listed here in Birmingham, AL. It's a GT1 It's probably an error though. More than likely it's white. I haven't seen it with my own eyes.

2018 Kia Stinger GT1 Birmingham AL 22246837
Well there's pictures up now. That thing is pretty. I was hoping it was a GT2. I think the GT1 actually does come in Panthera Metal. Guess there is still no hope of combos that aren't on the build and price.

Hey everyone! I'm new here and just looking at advice on a lease. My current car's lease is ending at the very end of March. I'm looking at a GT2 AWD. MSRP is 52,350. The dealer wants a 1k markup.

They've got it at 53,350 minus the 7200 rebate for an adjusted price of 46,150. No money down. Money factor leads to a rate of 4.75 With all the lease fees, dmv, bla bla bla...

Total price is 48,169
Monthly including tax is 809
Residual is 27,222

How is everyone getting monthly payments in the 600s? My tax rate is 7.75.

Thanks in advance. I look forward to exploring more in this forum

I picked up my AWD GT2 yesterday (see above), Beege, terms were $649 per month for 36 months @ 12,000 miles, my tax rate is 8.875%. Upfront payment was the first monthly payment of $649 + $242 in registration fees, all other fees/charges were built into the lease. Seeing as I'm pretty sure my dealer isn't a charity organization I'm sure he made coin on the deal, there's no reason you should pay a penny more than I did, tell him to match or take a hike and go elsewhere.
