Did you order a Stinger in October 2017? Bad news...

My dealer just rang and told me my order did not make the production run according to Kia. My car will now be arriving April, what a joke!
I was tempted to cancel the order but at least I will get a 2018 built car.
So if you have done the same expect bad news.
I think Kia need a better marketing and consumer section cause they will lose sales.

Ok, like im happy for forum member ezascanbe from Melbourne, he was told his Stinger was built on the 18th Dec 2017, and on the ship already on the 21 Dec 2017, it would be interesting to ask when he ordered it.

Red leather was going to delay my order by a couple of months on DCB colour car. I opted for black leather and the procured a dealers stocked car.

I put a clause in. If not here by xmas cancel the order. I ordered in August. Come December the dealer was running around like a blue arse fly. With white should be able to pinch another dealers stock if your dealer can swap him his stock, and if the other dealer is happy to accept that replacements colour.

I had that clause but they are compensating me so I will keep order. If they muck me around longer I will ask for the exhaust mod FOC. I expect many others in the same situation will cancel too.

I ordered in October & took delivery 30th Nov. = 7 weeks, I’m sorry for your delay, but hang in there it will be worth the wait & yes you will get a 2018 build.
Just maybe dealer forgot to place order straight away. Anyway go back & ask for freebies, check out accessories in the Kia AU site & maybe they will throw a choice of yours to ease the wait, doesn’t cost to ask & if they value your custom they may come to the party.

I ordered Hichroma Red GT 29th of Nov. With black Napa and have an end of February delivery date from the dealer.

I also emailed the KiaAu customer service a few times for an update. I never received a reply but maybe it helped?

Did the dealer give you a copy of the Kia order when you placed your order? Mine was a PDF of the order in the Kia Portal the day after I signed. Like Stinger GT SS said they may have sat on it.

I also heard some colours are more popular such as the red and potentially quicker to deliver which actually led me to order it.

To be honest I don't think Kia communicates at a very granular level to the dealers. They get the orders and they fill them asap. Until I had a VIN number the standard line was 6 months wait etc. etc.

I only got the dealer invoice/ order nothing from Kia so I guess they did sit on it and I missed the batch. Never got a Vin even when I was asking dealer when it would arrive right up until yesterday when he rang and said not arriving til ApriL.

Ditto and I ordered mine in September so I know how you feel. Getting info is like squeezing blood from a stone - very unproductive. It's like waiting for Godot isn't it? Not only that your order is FUBAR. Hang in there buddy.

I Ordered mine. A ceramic grey with red nappa interior in November.
Originally paid 1k about 6 months ago and promised it would secure a car for me and then just finalise payment once it came in.

Then dealer rang in november and said it would be 3-5 months....kinda sucks...guess i just have to wait...

Got my car before xmas..says it all

My car is now been re ordered so I get a 2018 build date so it will arrive in 3 months, maybe May. Big difference in insurance between 2017 build 2018 compliance and 2018 build 2018 Compliance., As is the value. The one they were going to give me was built October 2017 MY18 and I said no. They didn’t argue so I’m happy even though I have to wait longer. Maybe they will iron some of the bugs by then.
