Has anyone had their transmission fluid changed on there Stinger 3.3L as part of your break-in regiment? Mileage when done? What did it cost? Dealer or where?

I am considering it as part of my break-in regiment along with an oil change at 1k miles. Ya I know, some may say that is overkill, but if it is not too expensive, it is good peace of mind. Had my engine oil and filter changed at 300 miles already.

Unless I’m reading it wrong, the maintenance schedule for the automatic transaxle says “no check, no service required”

Correct, no service required for the transmission, however that doesn't mean you can not drain it and refill it.
Honestly, I wouldn't worry about until higher up in mileage, like 70k-90k miles. Unless the transimission starts acting up, in which case the warranty will come into play.

I agree for the most part and would not do any break-in change. Even though the normal maintenance schedule states "no check, no service required" the severe maintenance schedule recommends fluid change at 60K miles. Based on that, if I do changes myself, I will probably do them approximately every 60K miles, but no sooner. Instead of doing a flush I may just drain the pan (I think it has a plug) and then lower the pan and clean it up. If it doesn't have a plug, it would be a little messy but still doable. I do not think there is a filter in the Stinger. Note there's no traditional fluid dipstick either, so you have to be sure to put the same amount of fluid back in that came out, or find out how to measure for correct fluid level. A simple pan drain will not remove the fluid from the torque converter - a flush using the transmission cooler hoses is required for that. Without the service manual to look at, I'm not even sure where the fluid fill would be located. It's likely just a plug or cap of some kind near the top of the transmission. Some manufacturers even make them tamperproof these days so that they can tell whether a service has ever been performed.

I'm guessing flush would probably cost $250-300; drain and refill probably $125-150. Stinger has 9.2L capacity so the flush requires even more fluid than that at your expense, while the drain/refill may only be 5L or so.

DO NOT DO THAT. Modern automatics are designed with resivoirs in them, that catch debris as the tranny wears down. Flushing through your cooler, will stir the debris up, and pull it through the lines, damaging, and/or clogging them. ONLY do a pan drain, then top up with new fluid.

First car? lol

Seems to me from the responses, that doing anything with transmission fluid as part of the break-in regiment is either not necessary or may not be worth the effort/cost for any perceived benefit.

... just like changing your oil and filter at 300 miles.

Is it even possible to refill the sealed type of trans where they recommend no service?
I know they can be drained but I've heard they often don't have a realistic way to fill them.

there is a fill plug its an easy process on our cars

My transmission needed a flush at 75k 3.3 gt2
Transmission started to go at 100k total replacement rebuild

I routinely do my first oil change early as well, but not at only 300 miles.
The engine is really only properly broken in at probably around 1,000 miles.
I did my first oil change at about 2,000 kms (about 1,200 miles).
Just did my second oil change last month at 4,300 Kms (about 2,600 miles).
