Noticed today after coming back from being out of town that the top of the car has clear coat peeling from what looks like sun exposure. There is paint peeling on both sides of the car with more on the right side where the car gets more sun. I got it in December 2017 and recently moved to a more humid environment where there will be bursts of rain and followed by very strong sun.

That's not the paint that's a piece of plastic trim that appears to have cracked the finish probably from shrinking and expanding when going from cold to hot very quickly. That would 100% be covered under warranty and should be a fairly simple fix except for the wait time for the part to come in.

Paint is covered under warranty for two years. If they paint it most likely they will do whole roof which is good as you have lots of swirl marks.

Each of these plastic pieces is painted in a different batch from each other and the rest of the car's metal surfaces. So if these running "strips" alongside the sunroof are showing failure it was a "bad batch", imho: and as @NS_Stinger says, the warranty will cover paint failure and you'll get new strips. From December of '17, your warranty is good up to 36K miles or December of '20. But I bet that something like this would be honored by Kia beyond 36K miles simply because of the specific part not being worn out by mileage on the car. I believe that all weathering issues like this will be honored out to 36 months. The 36K miles limitation is only for areas that receive road debris damage.

Can't speak about Aus, but in the US our paint is warrantied for 36 months or 36K miles.
