LED replacement for bumpers reflector

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO !!!! Whyyyyyyyy ??:D

Good, that's one of the things I want to mod and which not looks excessive. Have those custom lights in my current Mazda 6 — cool stuff.

Just saying...you don't have to resort to Ebay sellers ;)

We will also be offering these pretty soon as full replacement modules. The install requires cutting into the OEM reflectors, so that can be a little tricky in terms of re-sealing them. The full replacement module with LED boards already installed will greatly ease the overall install process.

Sounds messy

Yep, I'd rather just delete the reflector all together. It already looks "busy" I wouldn't want it to be more noticae.

Why did they not make a single unit and direct swap. Very messy cutting into reflector. I think this will turn owners off from doing it.

Yea, it's not exactly easy to do, but definitely easy to screw up. We've had a few customers throughout the years come back to us to get the full replacement assembly after initially buying the LED board because they messed it up.

Well they have to use the OEM reflector unit because producing a whole new replacement with the LED's inside would cost dramatically more. This company just makes LED boards and can do the install It's way cheaper for them to buy OEM reflectors and put the LED boards in there. That's what I'm hoping to have as an option within the week.

How could this be deleted though? Aside from filling the holes in and re-painting the entire bumper, of course.

Someone on the forum got some 3m tape the same color as the car and just carefully cut pieces the same size as the reflectors. I'm not sure I would like it in person but the pics looked nice. Couldn't tell they were ever there...

@ImportSharMike are there plans to make the side reflectors active?
You know, I just asked about that yesterday when I was checking in about the full replacement assemblies. Good idea! I'll make sure to ping our Korean office about this in a day or so if no reply. I'd imagine if the part is relatively straight forward to remove then there's a good chance one of the LED companies in Korea will make something.

Something tells me there's no way that could possibly look good in person.

Mike, thanks for the quick response, but if all possible, I would prefer the OEM parts....:)
I meant one of the companies that produce these LED boards--which are generally made to work with OEM parts. These are not aftermarket replacements.

Mike , my apologies, I had something else on my mind when I responded. Of course, you are right.....:)

No offence meant ( well not a lot ANYWAY) ................my point is rear reflectors are not what any designer wants for their car ...........they are mandated by governments ( insurance companies ) for hopeful safety reasons .................why hi lite an undesireable feature ? kinda like putting lipstick on a pig ............

Well, lipstick on a pig makes it look better right? Ha! I actually have seen the rear LED reflector on an Optima and it actually looked really good IMO but it was identical to the rear brake lights. I am not digging the eBay ones, ImportShark’s are much much better. Problem is there is no way it will match the style of the Stinger brake lights so I am thinking it will look odd.

Less is more , I just dont think over doing this type of thing adds any value to the look or function ................I deleted mine with black vinyl and think it looks so much cleaner .................imo
