Everything is relative & values are what each individual thinks is a fair price, this cost me over AU$60 after you factor in exchange rate & shipping from US, I couldn’t eat for a week but it looks good & I’m happy with it.

It showed me CDN dollars, which even for here is outlandish for a simple steel bracket.

Totally agree considering that currently AU$66 = US$44.57 so you get a good break on the exchange rate, but I guess shipping is the deal breaker the same as it is for us between US & AU.

KAP Industries Bracket & Extinguisher arrived today, literally took 10 minutes to fit, the last photo is with the seat almost fully forward until it just touched, never going to be an issue seat is always back.
Nice & compact, no chance of it rolling around inside the car, easy to access & the extinguisher clips are quick release.

I have been thinking of buying that same Bracket, and it seems you also bought the Fire Extiguisher , is it best to just buy the extinguisher from them as well , I assume so. I know the bracket is designed for the Stinger, so just want to also ask, the plastic clips attached to the floor carpet to hinge OEM Stinger mats, are obviously not in the way of the bracket ?

You don’t have to buy the extinguisher from them, but as the extinguisher rack is all steel it made sense, plus it was cheaper than the bracket.
As I have this on the passenger side there is only one carpet clip on this side & it does affect the fitment of the bracket....all you need is an 8mm socket & open ender for the 2 bolts & nyloc nuts to secure the extinguisher rack to the bracket & 14mm socket to remove & replace the 2 front seat bolts.

I recently purchased this bracket for use in America, and I ran into some problems.

On both the drivers and passenger side, our floor mat locking tabs are in locations that get blocked once the bracket is installed. This means once you install the bracket, you cannot remove your floor mats for cleaning. And it doesn't really clear the OEM all weather mats, and really digs into them.

Also the recommended (only?) American fire extinguisher that fits has a large handle which blocks most of the seat movement in all mounting positions. I'm 6' 3" and couldn't get the seat into a usable position.

I think I'm going to stick to keeping the extinguisher in a toolbag in the rear footwell.

If it was $66 for 3 of them AND it included the charged extinguishers, I would consider it. But I read the reviews and really wouldn't want one if it were free.

That’s a shame about the handle, I purchased mine with the extinguisher & I now have it on the drivers side & I’m 6’ 1” & it fits fine.
You must have different standards in the US for fire extinguishers.

Yeah, I think the standards must be different here. I don't blame Kap industries at all, I knew I was taking a bit of a risk.

I was seriously considering chopping part of the extinguisher handle off, or buying a white "kitchen" extinguisher (they seem to have smaller handles), but I think keeping it in a tool bag in the rear foot well will offer me more versatility. Then I'll have full motion of both front seats, and If I do ever have a rear passenger, I can chuck the bag in the trunk.

If the seats don't have full motion it's always a risk bringing the car in for detailing or service. Someone could unknowingly move the seat forward and ram it into the extinguisher.

Will it work better on your passenger side, which will same as mine is shown with the handle facing out next to the transmission tunnel.

I tried both sides, neither worked very well with the massive Amerex handle and OEM all weather floor mats. The passenger side is a little easier to take the floor mats out of, but a lot more likely to have shorter lady passengers who want to move the seat up further.

I see your problem, I just have the OE carpet floor mats, my wife is 5’ 2” & hated it on her side although she liked the seat back, it was because of her handbag.
