• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

So, I think this may have come up before, but I couldn't find the landing on it....

I have the Stinger GT (3.3 twin turbo for those outside of Aus). I have about 6000km on it.

1) At my initial free service, the manager said I'd be back at 7500km or 6 months from new, whichever comes first. And they helpfully programmed the car to remind me at ~7500km. (personally the time-period thing is a money-grab!! speak to any mechanic....)
2) At that same service (I actually had it done early), the service guys fitted the below sticker, indicating 15,000km or 12months to the next service
3) If I go to the Kia website (Capped Price Service Owners Guide | Kia Motors Australia) and put in my VIN, it recognises my car and gives me 10,000km/12months. See copy attached
4) If I go to the Service Logbook that came with the car, it's as per (1) above. Copy attached.

So, does anyone have the official landing on this? I'm hoping it's the 10k/12months, because frankly if I'd known it was 7500km I probably wouldn't have bought it. Too much of a money grab to get your 7 year warranty

Hi Blackghost, if you refer to the Kia Service & Warranty Manual

* Page 24 states Sheduled maintenance services eligible under Capped Price Service program for Petrol Turbo parowered vehicles are: it then states 12 months/10,000kms intervals Service.

* Page 29 Scheduled Service & Maintenance table refer to Notes column on right hand side states Engine Oil & Oil Filter - Petrol Turbo powered vehicle”es - Every 12months/10,000kms

This is the Guideline that us consumers are given to adhere too, which then assists in maintaining our warranty. The dealers also Service the vehicle based on manufacturers log.
When booking you car for a service you always state that you want the “log book” service nothing more, nothing less unless you have additional issues of course & you should get as it states.

Doesn’t matter what the guy says, throw manuel this under his nose & he should comply, its in writing from Kia in the service booklet, this will win every time.

Thanks Stinger GT SS.... you're on your game!! You could have a job where I work!! haha!

So it turns out our manuals don't seem to match...... which is a problem. What version do you have? I've been given 2016 (V4), which I have only just noticed now. What do you have??

don't Quote me on that but im pretty sure, that your car will tell you when it want Service. My Civic does that. Every 15k-kms the Service notification popes up every time I start the car.
I hope the car will be smart enough to do the same

but like I said I'm not sure

That’s bizarre, mine is August 2017, Part No. KIAS&WM - 2017 (V5) you have version 4, someone has given you an old manual that appears to be irrelevant, go back to your dealer & ask for the current version.

Will do. Yours aligns with the website by VIN, which I'm ok with.

And I will feed back this issue to them .... I just got one of those surveys, another one, to complete

Thanks, that's a big help!!

The dealer service guide I got is wrong and is bring replaced. It says 7000km when in fact the service manager says is 10000km
