The Base 2020 Corvette Comes with All-Season Tires. Here's Why

Saw this earlier today. It says these were developed specifically for the Corvette C8, but I have a hard time believing these would not be released as an update to the Pilot Sport A/S 3+. My next set of tires will probably be all-seasons and I had A/S 3 on my last car and liked them. Hopefully these or similar update release before then.

Good find. These are certainly worth consideration when the time comes.

I'd be very interested if this means they'll have the A/S 4 in more aggressive sizes similar to the Pilot Sport 4. My only gripe about them is the difficulty in getting them in sizes larger than 285.

Well the Corvette is 245f/305r so they at least make those two. We will see what happens if these are ever released at all.

Two to three times more grip in the snow than summer tires? That isn't a selling point to me, because summer tires in snow skid forevvveeerr.

I bet my Nitto Motivo A/S UHP tires outperform these A/S Michelins in the winter.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Merlin have you tried any A/S Michelins before?

Having driven Pilot Sport A/S 3/3+ on RWD cars on snow in multiple winters with little issue...

What?

Nope. :D But I do love my Motivo A/S UHP tires. I'm sure that the Michelins grip better on other surfaces and in temperatures well above freezing. But the Motivos have the softer compound (or else they wouldn't howl earlier when cornering), ergo they will be better in more wintery conditions.
You (a tire) can't have it both ways.

Winter performance isn't only about soft compounds, the sipes and tread designs play a HUGE factor.

The stock Pilot Sport 4 is really soft. :p

What do you think of this tread pattern?
