I have had a 3.3TT for a few months and really enjoy it. Recently took it to Lime Rock and enjoyed it even more. Now addicted to track fun. Considering Racechip. Did a little research and would like the GTS. I am NOT a tinkerer, however. Will my dealer install? Of not, how would I locate a shop that I can trust?

Hi there. Go ahead and put Connecticut in your location.

I don't think you'll have a warranty issue with piggybacks. Dealers have been known to put them into new cars (along with swapping wheels, doing wraps, and what all!).

Really? I'd think driving into dealer with a piggyback tune would definitely put you at risk of warranty denial depending on the issue.

I just read here today about a purchase with a tune and 20" wheels and some other stuff. The dealer did all that.

That car didnt have a tune, it just had intake and exhaust which is totally different from a tune. I've never heard of a Stinger getting any kind of tune from a dealer.

You're right. My mistake about the tune. But a chip can be taken off easily, so we're told. Isn't that the whole point? Thirty percent jump in horse power and removable.

If you’re going to run track get sway bars fitted and set to hard, you won’t regret it. Soft setting is better for everyday driving and good roads.

Research installing yourself.
Very easy/no tools required.
You will be able to remove if required (and re-install later ;) )

Welcome.
Suspension upgrades are a must if you are going to be taking it to the track.
For piggyback tunes look at the JB4

So, my next question is how does the GTS compare with the JB4?

A quick search on this forum will give you the answers you seek. ;)

I'll second that. I installed my Racechip in a few minutes and I'm far from an experienced mechanic.
However, it's recommended to change (or at least re-gap) your spark plugs if installing a Racechip or other tuning module. That's certainly a bigger job, but so long as you have the right tools, you can get it done in about an hour. It took me longer because I forgot to re-attach one connector, meaning I had to go back & find the problem but if you're not a dumbass, that shouldn't happen. There are threads detailing what tools are needed and how to do the work yourself.

^true. I do have the Denso plugs (awaiting install) but the car seemed to run fine on stock plugs (maybe mine were properly gapped at the factory and I am just lucky ... ;) )

It is worth taking the time to get the plugs upgraded and , gapped around .022- .026 mine are gapped are at . 024 and I run off 94 octane :) the odd problem was found using stock plugs, it makes sense not to take chances and you will find your Denso plugs will not disappoint when installed :) Have fun :)

True.
To follow up, my OEM plugs were gapped at .030+
I installed the Denso at .022 ;)

Let me know how it takes the fuel as I was thinking of re gapping mine down to .022 if it runs smoothly on the pull , not worried if it idles a bit rough , just as long as it grabs the fuel ⛽️ well he he
