I like the idea of Kia's 10 year 100K power train warranty. That is what draws me to the JB4 vs ECU tune. It sounds like it can be removed prior to dealer visits (seeing posts about LSU 4.9 O2 extension cables to make fuel wires PNP). My plan is for the JB4 to be my only mod. What can I expect for 0-60 and 1/4 mile time for each:

Map 1 (93 octane)
Map 2 (93 octane) (I think I saw 12.4 for 1/4 mile but thought that might have been with intakes)
Map 3 (E30)

With no other mods (intake, exhaust, dp, etc)

Thanks,

AWD or RWD?

I’m sure Terry can give more accurate numbers, but speaking in generalities and educated guesses I’d predict the following.

A stock RWD Stinger on map 1 should drop about 0.2-0.4sec off those times. Map 2 should drop 0.3-0.5sec, and map 3 should drop 0.4-0.6+.

Yes I’m pretty sure Terry has 1/4m dragys of 12.4sec on map2 before adding intakes & 12.2-12.3 with intakes. I believe he went down to a 12.1 on map3 and 11.9 with WMI.

Keep in mind all his numbers were without LSD and possibly 0.1-0.2 better with more traction in 1st & 2nd gears.

Anyway you look at it you’ll be impressed with the extra power & performance.

****updated with some data******

Map 0 = 13.1, 107 (hyperjetta)
Map 1 (93 octane)= 12.7, 110 mph (hyperjetta)
Map 2 (93 octane) = 12.4 (Terry)
Map 3 (E30)

With no other mods (intake, exhaust, dp, etc)

Thanks

You probably won’t get much more power gains or lower times using map2/map3 without removing the horrible air restrictions of the stock intake box. Intakes & muffler deletes themselves add up to 44-50whp+ near redline just by removing those restrictions. Extra boost won’t do much if the engine can’t get more air in & out.;)
