2019 Map Update now available online

Had my update done this morning

Did mine yesterday. Download didn’t take too long once it got going, biggest issue is their clunky program which froze up and crashed my pc on the first go. Download had finished but the smart update manager froze. It’s ridiculous that you have to download from the website and use a separate program to upload to the SD card. Takes a while to update the unit once you put the SD card back in, I was pressed for time so just let it update while I was driving. No issues though.

All good, but as my dealer has used my VIN to update, i dont have access anymore.

That’s great but what’s it got to do with my post? Can’t understand why you feel the need to quote or even respond to it. Several others have posted on here that they did their own update, same as me.

In relation to you not having access there would have to be a way to change that possibly through Kia directly most likely on the map support phone number on the website(it’s also been posted on this thread). What happens if the dealership closes down during the next 7 years? Whilst it might not be likely it’s not beyond the realms of possibility given the current state of Australian vehicles sales. Does that mean you no longer get updates because they’re the only ones that can do it? There’s obviously a few in here in the same boat.

Just to clarify there have been a number of posts on the update process. To prevent any miscommunication to members this is where we are up to if you have not read the whole thread.

We have established that you can update your self but there are some issues if the dealer has already done an update or there could be problems with using the update software. Either way it can be done.
Some have stated that they prefer the dealer to do it to avoid any corruption of download issues.
In all cases it is possible and there is an update in Australia version 12.47.51 and this number may be different in other countries.

The post count is NOT my priority so let’s get that straight. It also was not directed intently at you. I often hit reply to make a post as it links the conversation so my bad for doing it.
Some times the interaction on here is much too often misconstrued, if it were me I would prefer to talk face to face.
So to prevent going too far off topic it’s probably best I bow out.

Thanx too this thread, became aware of this new update, so last night I downloaded this recent and second update to the Navigation system SD Card,then updated the system in the car today, it's not difficult at all guys, I also updated the first update myself. But each to their own, do what is best for you, there is no right or wrong, since I can do it myself, better that, than handing over my Stinger to service, where they could potentially damage the car, just for the sake of an update.

I had my car at the dealership yesterday to replace the AV module. I asked about the satnav update, and they said “we’ll check for any new updates”.
When I picked my car up, I asked if they updated my satnav and they said that I already have the latest version available.
I bought my car in late August 2018, and have never update my satnav.

I had a problem the right hand side camera cutting in and out. They replaced the camera and it was still playing up. After another diagnosis, they determined that the problem was with the AV module.

Thanks for that info, thought it may be something worth keeping an eye on in case it's not a one off

Did an update on a brand new SD card, went without a problem. Took about 20 min to download the maps, and 10 minutes to update whilst in motion. Thanks to the thread for all the instructions and experiences, makes the update so much easier and predictable.

Hi there @Azza Jarvis , I have updated my Navigation twice so far since owning my Stinger, it's quite easy to do, I will suggest to look at post #99 of this thread by @Bigbikes , he attached an instructional video on how to go about the update. I thought this might be the best way to understand how to do it. Hope this helps.

That's strange mine has always shown the album's art from new.(10/2017)
