I always bring up the circumstances, to help readers avoid contributing factors in the incidence of parking lot damage. So, if you could share how this happened, I for one would appreciate it. Were you parked where others want to park? (high volume traffic) In an end stall? Was this a fluke after you had done all that we can possibly do to avoid cretins who don't know how to drive and then run away?

I fear, from the look of things, that you were parked at the end of a row of stalls and got side-swiped. That doesn't look like somebody backed into you (although that is certainly possible).

Well i went to the grocery and i parked beside the <shopping cart drive in> to protect my passenger side from the other drivers - its fairly a small parking usually full on weekends so i was glad to have that parking space. I do usually try to go further then the full parkings but even then those who do like me knows theres always some guy that finds it neat to park beside a car parked alone "smh"...

anyhow did the geocerys came out and as soon as i came up to it i was in awe, the parking beside was empty, tried to glance around to see if anyone saw anything and apparently not. I examined it and seems damaged high and low so i suspectee maybe a SUV, Pick up or something of that sort so walked around the parking lot to see if anyone had a plausible damaged bumper but looks like he/she cancelled the plans and left.. i remembered it was a black car parked when i arriver but i eliminated the possibility because there a small blueish scratch. Apparently no cameras to help ke either.

You got sideswiped by some asshat turning right around the end of your car, cutting across parking lanes. They cut around you too close!?

The only thing I can think of that you could have done differently is to go clear to an edge, end stall. I've used shopping cart corrals myself. They seem safe enough. But then your left side is exposed to anyone driving across the lanes. That risk is much bigger than going to a far edge end stall and having "some guy that finds it neat to park beside [your] car parked alone", come over and do exactly that.

After your reminder (this feels like you "took one for the team"), I am going to forego all use of shopping cart corrals to guard my passenger side from now on. Too risky!

Thanks for filling in the details. This is why I pursue more information when one of us has an unfortunate "experience".

The grocery may have cameras in the parking lot that can help you find the culprit.

Great pics, car looks great like OEM wheels painted black...l was thinking of doing mine when it arrives, as I'm an ex spray-painter so easy to do for me. Have some nice TSW rims in mind but might save myself some money

I parked next to the parking lot drive in today as well, with the passenger side exposed. Nothing happened in my case, but after hearing about this incident, may have to go back to parking far away again.
