I drove to Oklahoma (16 hours) for a Mustang show. I have no problem going that far for a Stinger show also.

Almost 50% of the vote is East Coast. Pull in the Central votes and it’s 75%.

A good spot could be around the Washington, DC area. Tons of choices for a “Capital StingerFest”

It should be in sunny beautiful Florida. Hopefully central or north Florida

Florida has that awesome weather. I go on vacation every year to Florida. Although I won’t be able to make that far this year. I would not be mad if it was in Florida.

Doesn't after to be in Florida but DC would be to far north.

Will the Stinger Fest be something completely separate from the StingerFest in St. Louis MO over Labor Day? StingerFest - Kia Stinger National Meet

I didn't know this is happening right in my area. Looks like I've got someplace to go that weekend. :)

Not sure if this was discussed earlier in the thread, but if there's already a StingerFest by another forum, has anyone considered renaming this something else? Stinger Expo, National Stinger Meet, etc.

Atlanta, Asheville, Nashville, Chattanooga. Tons of great cities in the South East to stay in, party, spend a weekend.

Great roads too. I won't take my car to the North East lol. I like my wheels to be round

Atlanta, then. I am going there last of August. My daughter lives there and is expecting. :D Deals Gap is "next door". I plan on making the Dragon before I head back west.

Let me know when you get in. Happy to meet up and have a beverage or food, probably both to be honest. :)

We'll be in the Decatur, North Lake area. Daughter lives in Decatur.

The Dragon is cool but there are many, many more roads in North GA/TN/NC to enjoy with far less traffic and law enforcement spoilers. I ride motorcycles and have said I could probably be happy no longer riding, with a car like the Stinger. I'm taking it to an annual motorcycle rally with my daughter in a couple of weeks, because my ex. forbids my daughter to go on a bike and I want her to "experience" our event.

That's what I am concerned about. If I know about the Dragon, then practically everybody else already did; because typically I am the last to find out about anything (Stinger itself being a slight exception to the "rule"). If I was a cop, I'd be gathering revenue like mad on the Dragon, catching tourists (like me) who can't resist the chance to establish bragging rights back home. :p

There's a highway out here with a growing rep similar to the Dragon's. It's the 90 mile stretch of State Route 318 in Nevada where they hold a couple of annual runs for 15 timed speed classes. And also a flat out speed record as well (which currently stands at over 219 average MPH; in order to break that, you have to exceed 245 MPH). The Silver State Classic was introduced to me in the October 22, 2018 issue of Autoweek. And I want to drive it too. But for similar reasons, that highway is probably patrolled as a revenue trap by NV highway patrol.

Hey Merlin,

I know this car set the record, and I know it was a closed road in NV. The speed on the plate was the average. Do you know if it’s the same road?

^^^A number of my friends from different parts of the country go there for Z Days, which ended just recently. They were talking me into making a roadtrip there next year.

Pretty sure it isn't "the event", but it could be the same road? Why not? As of October last year - and the Koenigsegg Agera holding the top speed record for fastest production car, ever (at c. 285) is older than that, or I am much mistaken? - the average speed record on St Rt 318 during the Silver State Classic is just over 219 MPH; which will only be broken if a car surpasses 245 MPH: so, putting that together, if the Koenigsegg Agera had set the speed record during the Silver State Classic, the average speed record on St Rt 318 would be considerably higher than 219 MPH!?
