If I were to try and apply the older round KIA badge I'd make a black plastic backing plate with the necessary curvature on the bottom face to fit the nose of the car, with the top side square and flush to the back of the badge. By minimizing the thickness of the backing plate you'd eliminate any gaps and it would look stock.
Slow and steady working of the backing material (e.g. over sandpaper wrapped around a pipe of the proper radius) would yield a nice custom curved filler piece.
The badge was originally made for the relatively flat hatch surface of an early 2000's Sorento.
