• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. Australia-Specific Kia Stinger Discussion

Hey ladies & gents,

Currently in the market for a GT also. I’m not too phased on a new or ex demo with very low km’s. So far this is what I’ve been told (to give a comparison to the prices every else has been getting).

2019 MY19 $59k for a brand new one (no accessories thrown in).

2019 MY19 $62,500 for a brand new one on the floor with Bi-Modal.

2018 MY19 $57,500 new on the floor - Bi-Modal included, mats and tint.

2018 MY19 $55k for another ex demo (considerably high km’s though) - bi-modal, mats and tint.

And now on carsales new ones listed at $60,888 (Eofy sales of course).

I’ve been told Bi-Modal are being installed for $1,500 now in VIC though from dealers so that’ll give you an indication as to what the extra price is for them. Don’t believe this $2,500 installed crap..

Mind you guys all above prices I have not haggled one bit. Just simply called and asked some general questions. I would suggest another 5% off at least, on above prices can be achieved with some decent haggling and “walk out” methods. That and pitting the dealers against each other ;).

Now let’s all have some fun getting the best prices!

Cheers

DPX

Update from Werribee Kia, the car we were going to test drive with the Bimodal exhaust was sold at the weekend, so much for trying to hear one in reality rather than on you tube.Bit disappointing but we will still go for the test drive.

Best place to mount a phone in the car? I feel like double sided tape magnetic ball I have sticks to near nothing user friendly so I can just semi throw my phone into a magnetic spot rather than using 2 hands in the air vent which always goes loose...

I bought a Samsung phone holder that’s sticks to window. Quite slim unobtrusive and right within finger reach when driving. $42
Samsung Universal Mobile Vehicle Dock for Large Handsets

But my pretty front window ....I want something less intrusive....more streamline lol
Stick it in the console and go hands free

Hey guys and girls,

Test drove a stinger GT yesterday for a couple hours and whilst driving I noticed something and wondered if someone could explain this.

I noticed that under straight line speed it sometimes had this “floaty” sensation is it because the tyres weren’t gripping properly. Around bends and in sports mode it was fine - definitely requires more “confidence” to take bends at speed in comparison to smaller cars etc. But handles surprisingly well for a big tourer.

Again launch mode was fine straight line speed bopped down.

It was more around the 20-30 speed and punching the throttle for a couple seconds that floating feel and wobbling of the rear end. Could it be the traction fighting to maintain the wheels under control?

Wonder if anyone else could give some insight - cheers :).

For reference it had the Michelin tyres on it.

It not the tyres is the swaybars, a lot of posts here on the subject & lots have us have upgraded them which has pretty much eliminated what you describe.
BTW welcome, are you considering purchasing one?

Ah yes the sway bars. At one point I thought maybe the ride height will fix it but when I took on bends it was fine.

Even the wifey when she test drove she mentioned the same thing lol

Yes I am. I’ve been looking up prices and calling a couple of places to get some ideas - posted earlier and hope that helps people get better deals!

It might be a little over our budget right now unfortunately may have to wait or get really lucky lol

Ah yes the dreaded Stinger wiggle, volumes written on it within these walls:D. I hope you take the next step you will not regret it.

The test drive was 10 minutes as the car was not long off the boat it wasn't registered as a demo yet so the sales guy had to come with us.
From my time in it, we both thought it handled well, seats were nice and snug ( handles far nicer than my Optima ) and I liked how you can see the km/hr in the window whilst your driving.
