What's Up Stinger fans.

No I'm not a mortgage broker that just made my 1st big check. Here's the deal. My beautiful wife and I are having a difference of opinion on the Stinger. I currently own a couple big vehicles. I own a Audi A8 and and Yukon Denali XL. I told my wife I'm looking at buying the White GT2 with black leather interior. Being the brand snob that she is she told me that I'm too old to buy a sports car (I'm 48) and that only a 32 year old mortgage broker who made his 1st big check would buy a $50K Kia sports car.

So tell me. What is the demographic of a Kia Stinger owner.

Sorry if you're a 30 something year old mortgage broker and just made your 1st big check. We've all been there.

There is a very broad range of ages. In fact, I think there is poll on here or on one of facebook pages. I'm 32, fly planes for a living.

I'll be a 53 yo retired Firemedic at the time of purchase. And I'm getting white with red interior adding wrap and blacking out the rimsScreenshot_20190425-155732_Messenger.webp

Similar to this!

I'm 48! You've worked hard for many years, now is the time to enjoy life!

My strategy was to never shut up about Stingers for about 6 months, until the wife finally just said "Oh my God, just go buy one!" :)

Our oldest is 95, @Legendsk. I believe that the poll (somewhere) shows 30s and 40s as the largest polled group of Stinger owners.

And you need to push the Gran Turismo nature of this car. It isn't a sports car. It's too practical for that.

First off, no one is ever too old for a sports car (I'm a retiree, and I love mine), but, as Merlin just pointed out, this is a GT, not a sports car. And you've picked the classiest color/trim combo, IMHO. Tell your wife you'll rebadge it so no one knows it's a Kia.

Between 45 and 55. Infosec.

Happy Birthday to me ! Im gonna be 71 on Tuesday....Sheesh ! my Wife put a wood block under the accelerator so I cant drive over 55....ummmmm.. there's a song im thinkin bout that :) Wash

My strategy worked pretty well. But takes some one landing and patience.

I waited until she was 8-9 months pregnant, then drove my AWD charger through a utility pole and flipped twice. We needed a new car before the baby came. Take the Sedona we have for oil change. Test drive GT2, show wife how well car seats fit, buy cheaper GT after selling it to her as a deal cause we didn’t get the expensive GT. Don’t need the fancy things, just the engine :)

So now, I’m a 29 y/o with almost my dream car lol once it’s tuned and such I’ll be satisfied.

It's not a sports car, so you can tell her you're safe.
It's funny, I've heard a lot of people say that on here. You know what I hear from normal people in real life? That it's a sports car. It has aggressive styling and an aggressive stance, it's pretty fast, handles well, has a sporty interior, and a rwd platform. To someone who drives an Accord every day, the Stinger is a sports car. To someone who drives a Porsche 911, the Stinger isn't.

Call it what you want, there is no right or wrong answer because there are no set parameters of what makes a sports car a sports car, the distinction between a sports car and grand tourer isn't absolute. I will say this though, far more people drive Accords than 911s.

As for OP's question, I'm 33 but have been making good money for several years now. We have all ages on here though, you're never too old to own a sports car, sorry, I mean sporty GT that would beat the pants off many real sports cars in a race but isn't actually a sports car itself.

Its not a sports car.... Its a sporty non-sports car GT. :D

When I had the option to do the buy back there wasn't a single car that I would buy instead of the Stinger, even though they were willing to give me all the money I had spent on this car resulting in a huge amount of money that I could easily use to buy something else. As someone that also has a Tesla, the only car that makes sense beyond the Stinger for me would be a Tesla Model Y Performance. None of these other cars are competitive or even interesting in Stinger's price range.

45 on Tuesday, bought the car this month. Director of Engineering for a software company. Single, no kids :)

33, engaged, no kids, lead designer at a medical product manufacturer. Perfect timing for a Stinger IMO.

I'm 38 and I told my wife I'm in my mid life crisis and want a sports car before I die. Originally want a Lexus f sport, then a Chevy Camaro, then a Corvette sitingray, then a genesis coupe. However, we have a 3 yr old and a rear seat is a must and this just fit everything I needed so I put my foot down and just said, I worked hard for my money. I deserve it and so I did buy the same day I took her with me for a test drive. She liked it and that's how it went down.

sounds to me like your wife has insecurities and doesn't want you to appear any younger than you probably already look.
