2020 Stinger Rumors

I think 2020 will be another refresh year for the Stinger, nothing drastic just yet. 2021 will probably see more of an evolution, maybe new engine tech, slight facelift, updated center console to better integrate the touchscreen (since it seems all manufacturers are now abandoning the "tablet on a dashboard" look they forced on us 5 years ago).

My take with 2020 is that they'll make those fake hood and rear vents functional. As much as most of us would wish they'll make a Manual version, I don't believe Kia will come out with one for these bad boys as they will see a lot of trade-ins lol and trade-ins in automotive business is somewhat a "liability", but if they do come out with a manual - SHIT, I'LL BE THE FIRST to jump into that bandwagon. Also, I suspect that the GT and GT1's will have an optional 3D gauge clusters like the ones from the upcoming '20 Genesis G70, which will be standard on the GT2 and the super limited production "Atlantica" edition. I would also suspect there will be some wheel design change - however, I won't be surprised if they stick with the current wheel design on GT's coz they look SEXY AF!

I think that if they ever did a "limited" manual trans it would only be for the RWD. Same with the functioning hood and rear brake vents; it would all come in one "limited" package.

Manual transmissions are dead. No way Kia ever puts one in a GT car like the Stinger.

2020 will be like 2019. Very few changes other than cosmetic improvements that likely won’t even be noticeable to most.

Based on a quick internet search it appears that Kia released information about the 2019 models in October of 2018. Can we assume we'll have information about the 2020's in October of 2019?

if there would be any changes to the 2020 models and beyond it'll be very minimal to almost unnoticeable. Kia would not want to screw it up with the design cues and driving dynamics that already made this car widely accepted by automotive enthusiast. I don't foresee them changing the whole front fascia and rear of the car til maybe 3-4 years down the road. Kia kept the same design cue of the Optima for 3 years ('11 - '13).. changed it up a bit for ('14 - '15) then '16 and current. I think they'll do the same with Stingers but i'm not betting on it.

I agree, 2020 will have minimal changes. I can see Canada adopt the Tuon package that South Korea has and put it into its own "S" package as the top of the line package, similar to what they're doing with the 2020 Sportage. North America is like 1 year behind what South Korea is outputting. I honestly look to see what is happening in South Korea to give an indicator of what may trickle down to North America.

Plenty of automakers are sticking to tablet form-factor including Kia (see the K900, Telluride), at least for certain models, due to its inherent ergonomic and less claustrophobic inducing advantages.

The change I can see them making for the facelift is to put in a larger/widescreen (the new Soul in top trim gets a 10+ inch widescreen) w/ a thinner bezel.

Also, I suspect that the GT and GT1's will have an optional 3D gauge clusters like the ones from the upcoming '20 Genesis G70, which will be standard on the GT2 and the super limited production "Atlantica" edition. Don't think Kia is going to go down the 3D route for its digital gauge cluster, but it's lane change display is superior to the one found in the updated G90 (which will make its way to the other Genesis models).

That, along w/ the 360 cam should do away w/ any apprehensions about the impeded view thru the rear hatch.

Supposedly, Kia is working on at least a 48V mild hybrid, but don't know if it'll be relegated to the diesel engine offered in Europe.

I think the 3D display will make its way to the Stinger for 2020... it's already in the "parts bin" and there's just not too much more you could possibly add to these loaded beasts.

I heard a rumour that the new Hyundai/Kia's 2.5T engine will be put into the Stinger for the next facelift or model change. I highly doubt that's going to be before or in 2020 though.
