Paint protection film for my Stinger

I recently got a car (a week ago) and have been looking around and getting quotes for paint protection

I am planning to do (also putting Xpel part numbers)

1. Full bumper (P2823B-U)
   
   
2. Partial hood, fenders and mirrors (P2823-U or P2823A-U)
   
   
3. Rocker panels (P2823D-U)
   
   
4. A pillars (P2823E-U)
   
   
5. Door cups
   
   
6. Headlights

I created this list by reading through forum and looking at my old car for scratches and chips

My questions are

1. Should I add or remove any part?
   
   
2. How much labor should cost on each?
   
   
3. Can I do any of them myself? (I am handy with tools but never tried something like this)
   
   
4. Should I consider any other brand?
   

I received a quote of 1500 from Triangle Sign Solutions.

$1500 for partial hood and the rest? That is steep, imho. I gave 3M. But Xpel seems to be the "cat's whiskers" of PPF.

My 3M covers the entire front of the car back to the rear of the hood (wraps around the rear edge). It cost under a thousand. I am completely happy with it so far.

My 3M covers the entire front of the car back to the rear of the hood (wraps around the rear edge).

I didn't quite understand how much side profile is covered.

While a few of the areas are easy to install, most areas like the front bumper, headlights, and mirror housings require skill, certain tools, and experience. I'm lucky enough to have a very good friend who custom installs PPF for a living and when working on my cars (he has worked on over a dozen of cars I owned/currently own), I get reminded over and over why he does it and not me.

Yes, I found one shop through Xpel. It does look complicated in certain area. That's why I decided I want to go with professional install. Xpel does gives 10 year warranty.

Rut I just had mine done....get the full hood done....I got mine 90 percent covered along with full hood coverage...I did a barter which prolly amounted to 2k..you want the film to wrap around the edges of everything...on some kits they are decals and dont wrap the edge....if he has a plotter and cuts the sheets from the pc with the plotter he is a pro....if he uses decals hes a wannabe... ...my car took 2 days and one to cure in his shop .....its labor intensive...everything thats covered the paint has to be corrected, clayed and such...my .02 Wash

As I guessed: none of the rocker panel is covered: just the front fender down to the rocker panel.

After six months, there isn't a single mark on any part of the rocker panels, which I find very satisfying, if also surprising, since that is down where the front wheels might be expected to throw some small stuff up against the forward edges of the rocker panels.

Got a full front xpel bra a couple months ago. Problem is around the fake hood vents. Installed wrapped the ppf around the hood openings and reinstalled the vents. But either because of a wind vortex or constant hood/fake vent flexing, the ppf is getting bubbles/ripples around the fake vents. I know of 1 other Stinger with the same problem with ppf wrapped around the hood openings under the fake vents. Should I just have the ppf cut as close to the vents without wrapping underneath, or will this also become a problem with the exposed edges around the fake vents?

I’ve done enough of this myself to know I could not do bumpers or mirrors. Too many issues with curves and corners. Hood, rockers, fenders are easy. No way I would pay $500 or 1000 or whatever to have someone do this for me. I paid $200 (which killed me) just to finish wrapping the entire roof in the area I could not do because of the shark fin. I had done several other areas already. Encourage folks to give a try. It will give you a feeling of accomplishment.

i had the stinger ceramic coated when they repainted it. full on, windshield, rims, etc etc etc. actually gives the car a little more depth of color. it cost 2250.00 all in. 3 days. clay bar, that purple stuff and 2 days to dry. but, it was a humid day. totally satisfied. washes right up, looks like its waxed all the time.

SunTek also has a good reputation and offers a 10-year warranty.

I had some bubbles under the film on the fake vents, but they went away. No bubbles or ripples around the vents (so far after 7 mo).

What is the warranty period? That would factor into cost.

I asked and the body shop said ten years. But after reading online I find that it is seven years.

My Xpel wrap just goes right up to the vents, no problems.

Don't do a partial hood, you'll see the line.

As owners, we pay close attention to our cars. Would you say the line is noticable to a casual observer standing 10 feet away?
