Hi All,

Picked up my new white GT2 recently, such a fun car. Playing with all the features, and one that I would like opinion is whether the ambient light strip looks correct. Under settings-->ambient light I set it to Level 4, Blue. What I noticed is it's only 1/2 the dash (just on the passenger side) lit up. I would think it should go across the dash. Can you look at the picture I have attached and let me know if this is normal or something I need to have the dealer look at? Should it be continuing above the radio, then above/below the steering wheel, then connecting to the driver door? Thanks.

That's correct, it's only on the door cards (both front doors) and the passenger side dash area. It does not come over the radio.

Sadly this is the way it is...smh. I’m glad it has it, but I do wish it went across the entire dash.

You thought you were buying a Merc I guess? Hehehe. I kid, I really wanted to see this in the Stinger interior too. I think the stinger lighting is probably a touch more tasteful to be honest, but I would have preferred to have the choice to go much brighter (like the Merc) with more total length of accent lighting. With todays LED technology, there is really no excuse to not have a menu where each segment can be selected and adjusted to your preference, and tied to your drive mode if you want.

Anyone know what bulb you would need and how to replace them in the footwells? Id like to change mine to red.

I took my wife to check out the new Audi interior yesterday. Across from the Audi dealership is a Mercedes (she prefers E-class over A6) dealership. We decided to stop there first. They had a 19' E-Class in the showroom with white leather with brown accents. Brown leather dash trim. Open pore woodgrain surround. That all glass infotainment going from the center to in front of the steering wheel. And, of course beautiful ambient lighting. We were blown away. It looked like it was a one-off completely custom interior. It was just absolutely beautiful!

In hindsight we she have skipped the Mercedes dealership, because I probably ruined my chance of getting an A6.

It's unlikely to be a bulb you can just swap out. The license plate LEDs, for example, are chips directly mounted to a strip of circuit board.

They only come on when in park, for entry/exit, not while moving, but if you insist on changing the color, you might look for some kind of filter material that you can cover them with.

If you want the interior lit up like an amusement park while driving, there is another thread where people have installed front and rear footwell lighting using cheap parts from eBay or similar.

Here's a pic of the amusement park kit you can get on Amazon. I wouldn't call it cheap, per se (it doesn't cost a lot but the quality is great). The kit allows you to choose a bunch of different colors and levels of brightness. Some of them match the OEM colors pretty well.

@Kamauxx

That's stock lighting for our Canadian Stinger Limited (Door card and matching footwell lighting). However, the footwell lights only stay on while the car is parked. The amusement park guys are installing superduper bright LED's that stay on while the car's ignition is on.

Our footwell lights aren't color adjustable to match the ambient trim on the dash and doors.

The pic I posted is of a kit I installed in the footwells that can be changed to match the dash trim and doors.

The pictures make the kit's lights look way brighter than they really are. It's hard to accurately photograph with cell phones.

Not that I don't believe you on that kit, but I'm pretty sure my footwell lights match the ambient colour! I'll check this evening :P

Lmao. Scouts honor! That's the amusement park kit in all its glory.

I was concerned at first because the pics were really bright but it's adjustable from mild to wild. I like it mild.

The remote can also make then strobe, change colors randomly, and flash to the music's beat. It can definitely get wild.

The footwell lights do not match the ambient color. They are just white, and turn off when the doors are closed. I dont particularly care if they turn off, I dont need them to stay on the whole time, I just want to change them to Red.

Do you have a link?
