Some dealers have them powder coated. You can usually get wheels powder coated for $100-$150 a wheel. The OE wheels look great in black!

I was at my dealer last Friday having my 10k Service & they have a Micro Blue GT with the OE rims Black powder coated, cost was AU$800 & they are also getting it lowered. Looked pretty good although not to my liking.

The GT trim comes with electronic controlled suspension (ECS). Can it still be lowered?

If I can find a Kia dealership that will powder coat my wheels for approx $150, does that price include unmounting the tire and remounting? Or will that be an additional fee?

I wouldn’t use a dealership. Fine a PC place local to you.

Even if they don’t balance it. Have them do the PC, then have discount tire balance (for free typically).

Worth it. I love black wheels. I ordered a winter set--but went with dark gray for some reason (anthracite). I'm tempted to spray paint them black with the tires still on and not even using any masking tape. Mad max style. Will see how they look first, and they might not be so bad, but black wheels are on the list, for the OEM summer tires if anything, and I'll probably have 'em pwdrcoated because this car deserves better than spray paints.

Oh, I'd take the wheels off the car first, I'm not that lazy. I would just have overspray all over my tires until they got replaced, probably... That's what I did in the past, with cars that weren't this nice, so I'm not going to do that this time. I'll spring for proper powder coating if I can't stand them not being fully black, but I'm going to try to live with them for a while and see how it goes. It's not a pressing priority, but it's on my list. I'm sure they'll end up black in my time of ownership, which could be decades.

Man, that reminds me. Today I drove past some lady in her front yard going nuts with a can of spray paint, painting some furniture in her driveway. Doesn't she know that mist travels all over the place? I gritted my teeth and drove past, praying the wind was blowing the other way. I'm overreacting, because it would buff out, but still.

You can put silicone or similar product on the tires that allows it to just peel right off when dried.

I think this Ceramic Grey color just goes amazing with black wheels, it's a perfect color combo. And it looks like cops. It looks mean. It looks muscular and sinister. It highlights the red Brembos since it's all dark and then POP! Huge red calipers in your face.

They look nice but I don’t think it’s worth paying that.

For $250 more you can buy a set of aftermarket wheels that are lighter and IMO, look better with more concavity and wider stance. Throw some winter tires on the stock ones and plastic-dip em gloss black. That’ll cost you like $40.
