Alright guys, need some advice from all of you. I'm seriously experiencing issues with vibration in the car.

Ok...Here is my story. Started with a small leak on the left rear tire. Decided to use the Dealer to perform the repair since a few other items needed attention as well. First attempt resulted in the tire continuing to leak and a severe vibration when at high speeds. Second attempt repaired the leak, but still resulted in major vibration. Third attempt they stated 3 of the four tires required balancing; however i'm still feeling vibration (much less) at high speeds.

Here a some other unrelated issues i experienced:

  • Radio issues that required a new radio
    • Radio was replaced and dealer somehow lost the Nav card; which I'm still waiting to be replaced (1.5 months now)
  • Rear seat release hatch has a plastic molding that is broken; waiting for the part and is supposedly on back order for the past two months
  • Vibration when braking
    • Took two attempts to fix this issue, they 'spinned' the rotors twice and now feels good
  • Crackling sound from the hatch
    • Took to the dealer, honestly I don't even know they did anything as the sound still exists

Is this common for a first generation vehicle or am I suffering from a bad car with combination of a poor service department? I'm experiencing what I consider relatively simple issues, yet each of these are proving to be very difficult to resolve.

Take it to a tire and wheel shop and have them balance it. If that doesn’t work have them rotate the tires to see if it is a defective tire. Unfortunately, I had a defective rear Michelin that caused a bad pull, but no vibration.

There are 2 TSBs on the hatch rattle. The second one fixed it for me. You can search this forum as some have posted DIY fixes

Vibration when braking, may mean your rotors are “warped” they may need to be skimmed.

I had similar issues that my dealer hasn’t fixed. Some are new model issues but Kia dealers are very inconsistent in fixing problems.

You have an individual vehicle exhibiting more than the usual issues. Yours are all minor, though major aggravation, I can tell. Your wheels imbalancing problem is nothing to do with a new model car; ditto the broken rear seat catch: somebody pulled it down by the released catch one too many times or violently a single time (oops!). I release my rear seats by the catch, then pull down on them with the headrest. Obviously, "It is so hard to find good help these days." Who loses a NAV card? HOW do you lose a NAV card? It's in the damned slot ferpetesakes. Noisy hatch rattles/crackles are the second most common complaint after paint imperfections. Neither are deal breakers and can be fixed. Once these things are attended to, you should have a "perfect" car. Good fortune to you!

Try another dealer to see if they can solve the hatch issue. Don’t know which tires you have but a proper tire shop can tell you if the tires are “out or round” and can’t be properly balanced, then it’s time to hit up the dealer, most likely the tire manufacturer for replacement tires. The tires have their own warranty. On the missing Nav card, go see the GM at the dealer if the service folks are not responsive, or reach out to KIA via the VIP line and let them know about it.
