My front bumper lost a battle with a curb.
Scraped the lower outside edge on the passenger side and knocked the bumper off the quarter panel.
So the damage was on the opposite side of the wire connection box.

All safety systems (front object detection, collision mitigation, etc) were working just fine after the hit.
Had the bumper reattached at a local body shop without the need to remove the bumper.
For the next couple of days, the frontal detection was not working even though there were no dashboard warning lights and I reset the check boxes in the dash to make sure everything was on.
Then the frontal detection began to work again.
But my concern is that I'm not sure if the collision mitigation is working.

Question...if some of the safety systems are working then should all the systems be working since there is only one box for all connections?

Better ask the Dealer , opinions here are only opinions imho

That would definitely make the most sense. Sadly, the dealership i've been dealing with has been clueless about the Stinger.
Hopefully someone on this site has a definitive answer.
If not, i'll visit another dealership.

Try a good autobody shop , they should know as well

I just got my back from the body shop and they advised I would have to go to the dealership to get the Front Collision Avoidance System calibrated for the system to start working again. So I have no front collision and cannot use cruise control until this gets fixed.

that should not be a bit issue as long as the dealer has someone that can do it properly

Yeah, when I spoke with the Service Advisor he mentioned that he would only trust a few people to perform this type of service. Turns out to be about $400, mostly labor. The appointment is next week and I can report back if it’s still needed.

Something about a $400 charge to recalibrate the collision avoidance system seems fishy to me.

In October I was driving home at night when a coyote suddenly dashed out of the woods and crossed right in front of my Stinger. He almost made it across, but I hit his hind end with the left side of my front bumper. He skittered across the pavement but somehow kept going to the other side of the road. Then he immediately reversed direction and shot back across the road into the woods again. Crazy.

The impact cracked the section of the plastic bumper skin that runs between the lower grille and the left side brake vent opening. It also dislodged one of the front parking sensors and smashed the ambient temperature sensor. I pulled the bumper skin off my Stinger then epoxied the parking sensor back into place, replaced the broken ambient temperature sensor with a new one, and put the bumper skin back on. Also put some color-matched tape on the cracked section of plastic between the lower grille and left brake vent - will do a proper fix of that when it warms up next spring.

All systems on my car are go again - no "recalibration" was required. All of the parking proximity sensors and the smart cruise control system are working just fine.

Based on the above, I were in your situation I would ask the dealer to identify what they will actually do to recalibrate, and whether it is in fact necessary.

The front parking sensors are not used for auto braking. I think it’s the front radar which isn’t attached to the bumper.

Bingo.

The radar is in the middle of the UPPER grille.

I see that the OP mentioned that his dealer is clueless about the Stinger...

Any frontal impact could disrupt the sensor though. I've had a few vehicles with this and two hit object on the road that were particle board-like and both times the forward collision systems were confused afterwards. No amount of unplugging or resets work. The dealer must have some reset program it runs to allow it to forget that impact. It isn't free either.

So as I had written, my front distance sensors worked a couple of days after the hit to the right side of the front bumper.
And after driving on local highways with all the reckless drivers around here, the collision mitigation was tested and it worked.
So everything is working again.
I'm glad I didn't have to go to a dealership to get anything done.
BTW, I had the problem with the radio fade intermittently setting itself to the rear speakers only.
When I went to my dealership, they determined that I required a new radio.
I asked the service advisor how long it would take and he told me it would take about an hour.
After hearing this, I specifically reminded the service advisor that it was a Stinger---a new model.
He was confident that he was right.
I made an appointment for the radio to be replaced and set aside part of the morning---didn't need a loaner in this case.
BUT after waiting 2 hours in the lounge, I went over to the service department to ask them what was going on.
Quite a response...."well it's the first Stinger we had to replace a radio in" DUH! That's what I told them.
They had to take the whole center console apart.
I've owned/leased dozens of cars.
All I've ever asked of the service department is to have a Fkg clue! My time is valuable and I could have made arrangements for a ride or a loaner.
They wasted half of my day. IMO, they didn't give a shit and are incompetent and uninformed.
So I won't be going back to those pricks again.
Sadly, poor service is an all too common issue.
This was the risk I knew I was taking with a new model.
Just didn't realize how unprofessional they could be.

If I had to guess, I'd say the system calibrates itself. No way you could have something like that "set" at the factory that would be good for the life of the car. Probably just needed a few miles of driving to reset everything to normal.
