3.3TT AVAILABLE NOW... SSR PERFORMANCE Power Pack 3 Development!

Sorry, duplicating a message from the other thread but I realised the stock pipes have welded bolts part way through and couldn't wiggle it out. Does this mean the piping after the midpipes have to be removed as well or is there something I am doing wrong (again...)?

You need to drop and remove the black OE center hanger in order to slide the pipes off those welded bolts. The hanger is pictured in the first two photos of post 314 above.

No need to do anything to any of the other piping.

Do you guys get a raspy sound around 2200-2500 underloud medium load. I have the June downpipes with stock cat back and I get a bit of a sound. More so when the cars cold.

Not that I’ve noticed. These pipes sound good!

So I'm having a weird issue.

Ever since I put these on, the first left turn I make in the car makes a pretty awful grinding noise. After that, nothing. This happened the first time I drove it after putting them on, but it went away for a few days.

I don't know if it's due to expansion/contraction as the metal heats up, as it only happens once. I'm also not sure if the grinding is metal settling into place or a tiny, temporary exhaust leak. It almost sounds like the ABS is kicking on.

I'm going to have to remount these, which I'm not particularly excited about. I'm optimistic it was a bad installation on my part rather than an inherently bad fit or an out of spec part.

I'll provide an update when I find the time to do this, which probably won't be until next week.

You may want to read this. Sounds like this is a common Stinger issue without a solution.

I too have the grinding at slow speeds and hard turns. Mostly when backing out of the driveway. I guess in reading it’s the AWD system working. Still unsettling .
That’s weird I have no noises from my awd 2000km on it with jun b l downpipes

I disagree with the poster in that thread about it being the AWD. I’ve never experienced a grinding with the Audi’s I’ve owned. 4wd trucks would hop and grind when making sharp turns but awd cars in my experience don’t exhibit this behaviour.

There are owners with RWD also experiencing the issue as well.

Guys finally installed the axle back today from SSR....here some videos i posted on you tube to help the stinger community....
